Born November 23, 1919 in Preston, Idaho, daughter of Frank and Ethel Burton Kropf. Married Joseph Earl Smout September 8, 1938 in the Salt Lake Temple; he preceded her in death July 3, 1991. She was an active member of the LDS Church where she served a mission with her husband to the New York/Rochester Mission and served as a temple ordinance worker. She was happiest with her family around her. Survived by children, Joseph K. (Patsy) Smout, Pingree, Idaho; Doran E. Smout, Sacramento, California; Marilyn (Gilbert) Abbe, Vicksburg, Mississippi; Karen (Gary) Smith, Mesquite, Nevada; Lori Valene (Jim) Bagley, South Jordan, Utah; 27 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sisters, Delma Westover, Washington; Rea (Joseph) Austin, Mapleton; brother, Byron (Beth) Kropf, Logan. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 7, 2000, 12 noon at the Jordan River 5th Ward, 10191 South 10th West where friends and family may call Saturday at the church, 10:30-11:45 a.m. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park.
