Id Obits Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Id/FranklinObits/213 Surname: Harper, Manning, Jenks ------------------------- The Idaho State Journal 10-06-2000 LuDean Manning Harper, 79, Omaha, Nebraska, formerly from Pocatello, Idaho, beloved mother, grandmother and friend, has gone to the loving arms of her Heavenly Father and loving husband Tuesday, October 3, 2000. She was born January 2, 1921, to Virgil and Olive Ann (Jenks) Manning in Preston, Idaho. She was raised and educated in Preston. She met Reid J. Harper while she was working at the Preston bakery. Dad told a friend, "that's the girl I'm going to marry." They were married January 16, 1942, in the Logan, Utah temple. To-gether they were blessed with five children, with the first one dying at birth. LuDean was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held many callings in the church, and served three missions with her husband. She belonged to the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She was a graduate from the LDS Institute of Religion at ISU, and she spent many hours doing genealogy. She loved to read, cook, sew and garden. Most of all, she loved her family, and dedicated her life to them and to serving her Heavenly Father. LuDean is survived by her children, James Dean (Elyse) Harper, Chubbuck, Idaho, Carol Lee (Ron) Benson, Clearfield, Utah, Ann Marie (Glen) Stutznegger, Omaha, Neb., Connie Lou (Rich) Winn, Clarmont, Fla.; brothers, Leon (Gwen) Manning, Pocatello, Gen. Daryl (Rochelle) Manning, Boise, Idaho, Denney (Sue) Manning, Pocatello; one sister, Norma (Donald) Cummings, Las Vegas, Nev.; 18 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Reid, baby Harper, parents and a brother, Allen. Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday, October 7, 2000, at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. Fourth Ave., Pocatello. The family will meet with friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. tonight, Friday, October 6, at the funeral home, and one hour prior to the services on Saturday. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Pocatello.
