She was born May 2, 1905, in Thurber, Utah, near Spanish Fork, Utah, the daughter of David Joshua and Ivy Lucy Thompson Coombs. She married C.B. Lewis in 1922 and they were later divorced. She married Charles Cahoon in 1945, and he preceded her in death. She and her husband worked caring for families and she helped care for elderly individuals. She was an excellent cook and homemaker and a good neighbor. Ironed and starched clothing was part of her life. She was a Primary teacher for many years. She is survived by a son, Neil (Ialeen) Lewis, Montpelier; daughter, Karma (Frank B.) Roper, Smithfield, Utah; 11 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; 25 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Emily Bennett, Pocatello, Idaho, and Millie (Dell) Wood, Torrance, Calif., and one brother, Ruben Coombs, Inkom, Idaho. She is preceded in death by a daughter, Kaye; four sisters, Rachelle, Golda, Claudia and Nell, and one brother, Jesse Coombs. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Dayton Ward chapel, 805 N. Westside Highway with Bishop Ron Atkinson conducting. Friends may call from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the ward chapel. The burial will be in the Montpelier Idaho Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff at the Franklin County Nursing Home.
