She was born July 25, 1917, in Bellmont, Ill., the daughter of Steward and Ruby Wiseman Harris. Her family moved to Independence, Miss. when she was a small girl and she attended and graduated from the William Chrisman High School in 1934. She married Grant Clayton Porter June 30, 1949, in the Salt Lake Temple. He died June, 3, 1993. She always had a nice home and yard. She was active in the LDS Church and served as Relief Society president. She also served a two-year mission and was a temple officiator with her husband for many years. She is survived by one son, Gary, of Preston Idaho; a brother, Merrill (Leota) Harris, Independence, Miss.; three sisters-in-law: Juanita, Betty and Claudia, and many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by three children and four brothers: Gerald, Chester, Walter and John. Funeral services will be at noon, Friday, May 18, 2001 in the Preston 3rd Ward chapel, 155 N. 200 West, with Bishop Bryon Kelley conducting. Friends may call at Webb Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and at the ward chapel from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in the Preston Idaho Cemetery.
