He was born March 23, 1903, in Hyde Park, Utah, to Henry Hurren Seamons and Marie Ann Bennett. He was the second of eleven children. He married Elsie Lucille Jepsen of Mink Creek on Dec. 22, 1927, in the Logan LDS Temple and had four children, Virginia, Delbert J., Blair and Scott. He loved his horses, using teams of them to work his farm long after tractors became popular. He would take his grandchildren on rides in his horse-drawn sleigh too Delbert farmed for almost a century, having left home as a teenager to work farms in Utah until he bought his own on Capitol Hill. He always had a dog who was his constant companion. A hard worker, who taught his children to work hard as well, he was bucking bales of hay well into his 80s. Delbert was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his sisters, Verda Balis and Wanda Rich; his brothers, Melvin, Orson, Howard and Homer; and two grandchildren, Bruce Jensen and Leanne Seamons; and one great-grandchild, Tessa Jo Stanger. He is survived by his children, Virginia (Don) Hansen of Smithfield, Utah; Delbert J. (Twila) Seamons of Pocatello, Blair J. (Janet) Seamons of Preston and M. Scott (Catherine) Seamons of Mink Creek; 19 grandchildren; 65 great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild; his sisters, Bonnie Allen, Naoma Fackrell and Rhoda McDermade; and a brother, Weldon Seamons. Funeral services will be held at noon on Tuesday, May 22, 2001, in the Mink Creek Ward Chapel with Bishop Jim Harrison conducting. Friends may call Monday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home and Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Mink Creek Idaho Cemetery.
