She was born May 7, 1915, in Preston, Idaho, the daughter of Jedediah Morgan and Anna Rozella Forsgren Palmer. She married Lyle Orval Petersen on March 21, 1941, in Glendale, California. The marriage was sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on Sept. 9, 1941. Lyle preceded her in death on Sept. 18, 1996. Grace and Lyle owned and operated Petersen Drapery in Preston for 45 years. They were known and respected throughout Cache Valley and surrounding area for their quality workmanship. Grace always had an innate talent for interior decorating. She knew the right decor for any room she walked into. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held numerous positions, culminating with nine years officiating in the Logan Temple with her husband. She was a long-standing member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She had a great love for her family, for music, decorating and gardening. She was an example of love, integrity and hard work throughout her life. She is survived by three daughters and one son, Janet P. (Robert) Johnson, Preston; JoLynn P. (Robert) Jex, Tremonton, Utah; Bruce L. (Barbara) Petersen, Preston; and RaNae P. (William) McKee, Pocatello; 23 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and by three sisters, Vera P. Nelson, St. George, Utah; Dorothy P. (Stewart) Greaves, San Diego, California; and Laura P. (Glade) Burgon, Farmington, Utah. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle, and by four sisters and one brother, Eva Troseth, Margret Shumway, Willis Palmer, Thora Winn and Anna Mae Gould. Funeral services will be held at noon on Thursday, Sept. 7, 2000, in the Preston North Stake Center, 310 N. State, with Bishop Steven Fuller conducting. Friends may call Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home and Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the stake center. Burial will be in the Preston Cemetery.
