She was born in Preston, Idaho, to George and Emma Nelson on Jan. 5, 1916. The family moved to Logan where her father, George (Doc) Nelson, was employed at Utah State University. During her junior year at Utah State Lucile married Carlyle Rogers. The two of them made their home in Lewiston, Utah. While in Lewiston they had two sons and a daughter, Russell, George and Carla. The Rogers family then moved to Logan for several years. Carlyle met an untimely death while working in a saw mill during 1956. Lucile moved to San Francisco where she attended a dental-medical school and worked at the Kiaser Medical Center. She moved back to Utah where she worked at the University of Utah Medical Hospital. While living in Salt Lake she married Elmer Lueck. They moved to Logan where Lucile became very active in several service organizations such as president of the local Disabled American Veterans, both local and state; president of the local and regional women's American Legion and president of the local AARP organization. She was the "mother" of the Eagles Lodge. She is survived by her sons Russell (Pat) Rogers, George (JoAnn) Rogers, her daughter, Carla (Cliff) Batchelder. One brother Keith (Karma) Nelson and two sisters, Marget (Dee) Neville and Barbara (O'brian) Jeppsen, five grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Elmer preceded Lucile in death. Funeral services will be held at the Allen-Hall mortuary at noon on Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2000. Friends may call one hour prior to services. Interment will be at the Logan Cemetery.
