He was buried in the Holbrook City Cemetary in Holbrook,Az on March 17. He was born in Cleveland, ID, and attended school in Treasureton, Franklin County, ID. He grew up near Whitney, ID. There his dad, Howard Rasmus Smith, and uncle Roy mined calcite during the depression. Surviving him were his wife Ethel Jorgensen Smith, daughters Louise and her husband Marshall Tuller, LaNette and her husband Ronald Towell, and son Richard Jay Smith and his wife Judith. His sister Phyrl Peterson, brother Frank and sister-in-law Janice Cook. He seen born 10 grandchildren and 12 greatgrandchildren. One of the greatest material gifts that he passed on were the photos of his childhood in Franklin County, Idaho.
