She was born April 26, 1920, in Logan, Utah, the daughter of William Potter and Mary Ann Raymond Bowen. She graduated from Logan High School, the Collegiate College of Beauty, and she also attended Utah State Agricultural College. She enjoyed being a cosmetologist for more than 55 years. She married Quinten Edwin Crockett on August 30, 1941, in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. He preceded her in death on September 24, 2001. She gave a lifetime of love and service to her family, friends, church and community. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in any capacity to which she was called. She especially enjoyed teaching the Trekker boys and fulfilling a Manila, Philippines mission with her husband from 1988 to 1990. She was a devoted member of the Syringa Camp of the DUP, as well as a charter member of the Nifty Needles Sewing Club. She served with and supported her husband, Quin, as an international director of Lions Club International from 1985 to 1987. She was also a charter member of the Pocatello Scholarship Lions Club and a Melvin Jones Fellow recipient. The greatest love of her life was her family, who express their great love and appreciation to her for a lifetime of love and sacrifice for them. Dorothy is survived by three sons, Quinten Edward (Nancy) Jr., Boise, Keith B. (Flora), Everett, Wash., Philip B. (Celeste), Provo, Utah; four daughters, Merilee Crockett, Downey, Gail (Nate) Inglet, Idaho Falls, Jody Crockett, Preston, and Helen (Steve) Jensen, Burley; 21 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Jonathan R. (Jack) Bowen, Logan, Utah. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Gene, and sisters Helen DeWitt, Mayma Gardner, Kathryn Bullen and a brother, William C. Bowen. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 11, 2002, in the Preston Eighth Ward Chapel, 213 S. 200 E., with Bishop Kevin Sharp conducting. Friends may call Wednesday, July 9 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 109 E. Oneida, Preston, and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Preston Cemetery.
