Haworth, 74, died Thursday, April 5, 2007 at Heritage Park Care Center after a courageous battle with bone cancer. He was born September 6, 1932 in Logan, Utah a son of James H. and Cora Stocks Haworth. He traveled with his parents throughout Utah, Idaho and Wyoming while his dad worked construction. At age ten, they moved to a farm in Franklin, Idaho. He attended Franklin School and graduated from Preston High School in 1950. He attended Utah State Agricultural College and Weber State College. Gary joined the U.S. Marine Corp on January 29, 1953 while his mother was giving birth to his baby sister, Jan. He was honorably discharged on January 29, 1956. While a Marine he earned the marksmanship expert rank. On June 15, 1957, Gary married Faye Henderson in Smithfield, Utah. They lived in Layton before moving to Roy on Thanksgiving Day in 1966. He quickly established his basement habitat with his fireplace, remote control and comfy couch. They had two daughters, Laurie and Annette. Gary worked at Hill Air Force Base as an electronics technician for 36 years. He retired January 1, 1989 at age 56. Gary loved to hunt, spend time with his brother, Wayne, at his cabin in Cascade, Idaho, cut down huge trees, and drive around in his scout looking for something to shoot. He loved his hunting dogs and always seemed to be feeding a stray cat. He knew everything there was to know about airplanes. He loved to play with his grandchildren. The family wishes to express a special thanks to Sherman Olsen for the countless hours he spent reminiscing with Gary and doing "fix-its" for Faye. The family also wishes to thank the nurses and CNA's at Heritage Park for their patience and care. They were his "buddies". Gary is survived by his wife, Faye; daughters, Annette Brinkman, of Centerville; and Laurie Haworth, of Salt Lake City; three grandchildren, Brent, Tyson and Tawny; and one sister, Jan (Dave) Yeates of Wellsville. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Wayne and Jimmy. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 9th at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist's Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.
