He was born Sept. 26, 1911, in Cornish, Utah, the son of Andrew Charles and Sarah Elizabeth Litz Simmonds. He married Mildred Glover on Jan. 15, 1938, in Logan, Utah. He was an excellent farmer and dairyman. He always grew beautiful crops and was a very knowledgeable dairy farmer. He showed cattle with his son for 20 years at the Utah State Fair, Richmond Black and White Days, and Cache County Fair. He is survived by his wife, Mildred, of Lewiston; his daughter, Linda (Jon) Hyde, Preston, Idaho; his son, Terry G. (Edith) Simmonds, Lewiston; two grandsons, Kyle (Gay) Hyde, Logan, Utah, and Jordan Simmonds, Lewiston; and by three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Howard, Lloyd, and Grant Simmonds; and by six sisters, Ruby Hansen, Mabel Jorgensen, Blanche Brown, Wilma Anderson, Nellie Simmonds, and Hazel Simmonds. Funeral services will be held at noon on Monday, Aug. 7, in the Lewiston 2nd Ward Chapel, 10 S. 1600 West, with Bishop Jan Hall conducting. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at Webb Funeral Home, 109 E. Oneida St. in Preston, Idaho, and from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Monday at the church. Interment will be in the Lewiston Cemetery.
