Stanger, 77, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 19, 2000, in Preston, Idaho. He was born May 3, 1923, in Preston, Idaho, the son of George and Sarah Hymas Stanger. He married Gweneth Elaine Hendricks on July 12, 1943, in Soda Springs, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Temple. She preceded him in death on July 12, 1984. He enjoyed farming, horses, reading and hunting. He belonged to the Boots and Saddle Club. He served in the army during World War II. He is survived by a son and three daughters, George Stanger of Preston; Kathy (Kade) Alder of Hurricane, Utah; Cheryl Timothy of South Dakota; Lisa (Scott) Heusser of Preston; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; by a brother, Ben Stanger of Palm Springs, Calif.; and by a sister-in-law, Garnet Stanger of Perry, Utah. He was preceded in death by his wife, by a son, Kimber, and by two brothers, Cornell and Nile Stanger. Funeral services will be held at noon on Wednesday, Aug. 23, in the Preston 7th Ward Chapel, 155 N. 200 West, with Bishop Thane Goodrich conducting. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Webb Funeral Home, 109 E. Oneida St. in Preston, and from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Preston Cemetery.
