Taylor, 58, of Emmett, ID, passed away Thursday, November, Nov. 23, 2000, after a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2000, at the Potter Funeral Chapel in Emmett. Interment services will be at 2 p.m. at the Terrace Lawn Memorial Gardens, Boise, ID. Leon was born April 23, 1942, at Weston, ID, to Sylvan and Laurna (Byington)Taylor. He grew up in Meridian, ID and attended schools there. He married Barbara Hahn on Sept. 21, 1963. They farmed in Meridian from 1963 to 1972. In 1972 they moved to Emmett, where Leon was an accomplished dairy farmer. Over the years he received many dairy awards. After selling his dairy cows in 1995, he enjoyed spending time with his family and especially enjoyed his grandchildren, who called him "Papa". Leon is survived by two sons, Mark and Karla Taylor, Andy and Kami Taylor; two daughters, Maria and Rick Gibbons and Amy and Chris Atkinson; Barbara (Taylor) Malmstrom, the mother of his children whom he remained friends with throughout the years; nine grandchildren, Tiffany, Kayla, Trent, Travis, Dakota, Duston, Enka, Julia and Joel; four sisters; and a brother. He was preceded in death by a sister.
