She was born August 7, 1939, in Montpelier, Idaho, the daughter of Howard Wayne and Katherine Johnson Stevens. She was raised near Bear Lake on the family farm. The family owned the Brooklawn Creamery. She lived in Logan, Utah, and Delta, Colorado, where she graduated from high school, She attended BYU for one year. She married Neil Bell in Blanding, Utah, and lived in Salt Lake City, Utah; Spokane, Washington; and Osborn, Idaho. With her great-great grandfather crossing the plains with the Willie Hardcart Company, surviving the Hole in the Rock trek and helping to colonize five towns in southern Utah, Sandra had a strong pioneer heritage and was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She inherited her forbearers' endurance and courage. She did oil paintings and enjoyed sailing on Lake Coeur d'Alene. She moved to Preston in 1980 and was active in the church, in Primary Relief Society, as a visiting teacher and ward program preparer. She was instrumental in starting a multiple sclerosis support group. She is survived by a son, Sean and Karen Bell, Logan, Utah; and a daughter, Kate Bell, Boise, Idaho; two grandchildren, Preston and Kristen, both of Logan, Utah; two brothers, Howard Stevens, Phoenix, Ariz., and Gaylen (Maria) Stevens; brother-in-law, Larry (Chris) Ralphs, Clifton, Idaho. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Vicky Ralphs. Friends may call at the Webb Funeral Home, 109 E. Oneida, in Preston Sunday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and at the stake center Monday from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, Nov. 13, 2000, at 12 noon in the Preston North Stake Center, 310 N. State Street, with Bishop David Fryar conducting. Burial will be in the Clifton Cemetery.
