Pierce,79, of Pocatello died early Wednesday morning, November 8, 2000, at her home following a lingering illness. She was born August 14, 1921, at Preston, Idaho, to Norman and Anna Salversen Day. Much of her early life was spent in the Downey area where she enjoyed living on the farm. She later lived in Salt Lake City, Utah; Lima, Montana; and Pocatello. She married Alvero (Bud) Monroe Martin August 14, 1939, on her 18th birthday, and they had three children, a son, Darol Blaine Martin of Kenai, Alaska; daughters, Barbara Joyce Magarity and Linda Ann Hubbs, both of Enid, Oklahoma. They divorced in 1946. Johnson October 19, 1946, in Lima, Montana (later divorced). She then married Lester Vernon Pierce June 21, 1965, in American Falls, Idaho, and they lived in Pocatello, Idaho. Her stepsons are Robert Lester Pierce of Bismark, North Dakota; Oscar Kenneth Pierce of Yelm, Washington; and Ronald Ray Pierce of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Wanda enjoyed her work as a beautician and was considered to be one of the best in the area. She also trained Boston terriers for show. The many trophies she won attest to her skills. Her greatest joy in life were her family and her friends. She also enjoyed golf, fishing, camping, quilting and painting. She participated in the Relief Society and Primary of the Pocatello 12th Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and belonged to the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. Wanda is survived by her two brothers, Eugene and Lynn Day; and sister, Dorothy Malott, all of Downey, Idaho; her three children, three stepsons; her nine grandchildren, David Martin of Homer Alaska; Rick Martin of Plattsmouth, Nebraska; Felicia Guidry of Enid, Oklahoma; Brett Bieker of North Ireland; Denise Strom of Orem, Utah; William Bieker of Pocatello; Cindy Wright of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Aaron Hubbs of Portland, Oregon; and Damon Hubbs of Midwest City , Oklahoma; stepchildren, Christine and Crystal Pierce of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and 13 great-grandchildren. Wanda was preceded in death by both her parents and her husband Les. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, November 13, 2000, at 11 a.m. in the Downey LDS Ward, Downey, Idaho, with Bishop Reynold Ralphs conducting. The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday evening in the Henderson-Cornelison Funeral Home, 431 N. 15th Ave., and from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Monday at the church. Interment will be in the Downey Cemetery.
