She was born March 15, 1911 to George Harrison Kofoed and Rosella Williams in Weston, Idaho. She married Van Emil Nelson, July 18, 1934 in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple. She has experienced many interesting and beautiful events during her lifetime. She graduated with a teaching degree from Utah State in Logan, Utah. She and Van bought the family farm in Preston, Idaho, where she lived most of her life. She has been active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints her entire life. She taught Sunday School for 40 years. She worked in the Logan Temple for six years, and served four full time missions. Rilla was an avid reader with a strong testimony which she often shared with her family and friends. Rilla is survived by sister, Tressa Rose Peterson (Lee), Hyrum, UT; Eldred Nelson (Darlene), Murray; Neal A. Nelson (Roberta), Bountiful; Jerry Nelson (Janice), Mesa, AZ; 16 grandchildren; and 19 great-grand children. Preceded in death by husband, Van Nelson, sister, Sybel, brothers, Reese Kofoed, Howard Kofoed. Funeral services will be held Monday, Feb. 25th, 2002 at 1 p.m. at the Fairview 2nd Ward Chapel, Fairview, Idaho. Friends may call Sunday, 6 to 8 p.m. at the Webb Funeral Home in Preston, Idaho, 109 E. Oneida, and at the ward chapel in Fairview prior to services from 11-12:30 p.m. Interment, Preston, Idaho Cemetery.
