He was born June 28, 1911 in Dayton, Idaho, a son of James Peter and Eliza Jeppesen Schow. On March 17, 1940, Ernest married Dorma McDermott in McCall, Idaho. She preceded him in death. He had worked as a contractor in the construction business. Ernest was a very gifted man at many things. He was an avid rock hound and lapidarist. He loved photography, flying, camping, skiing, golfing and building things with his hands. His hands crafted jewelry which won many honors at rock shows, and his displays were enjoyed and admired by all. Ernest was a member of the Beehive Rock and Gem Club. He enjoyed, respected, and loved all of those wonderful folks. Surviving are four sons and three daughters, Michael Schow, Salt Lake City; Lawrence "Lonny" (Marsha) Schow, Roy; James "Jimmy" Lee (Diane) Schow, Layton; Jeffery Peter (Lisa) Schow, Roy; Loretta (John) Field, Rohnert Park, Calif.; Diane (Charles) Aiello, Roseburg, Ore.; Cheryl (Larry) Archuleta, Syracuse; 18 grandchildren 21 great-grandchildren. Ernest is also survived by one sister, Ada Jepsen, North Ogden. He was preceded in death by his wife Dorma, and one son, Ernest Reid Schow. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Lindquist"s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may call at the mortuary on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Interment, Lindquist"s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road.
