Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, at the LDS Chapel, 3200 Cassia St. Bishop A.J. Balukoff will officiate, under direction of the Relyea Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Morris Hill Cemetery. Mr. Thompson was born Aug. 15, 1914, in North Fairview, Idaho, the youngest of seven children born to Thomas Thompson and Hannah Minerva Hall. He spent his childhood and attended school in Fairview, graduating from Preston High School in 1932. Mr. Thompson attended the University of Idaho, where he received his B.A. in 1937. While attending the university, he was an active member of Delta Chi fraternity. He married Grace B. Larsen on June 2, 1937, in the Logan, Utah, LDS Temple where they were sealed for time and eternity. After living in Boise for three years, they moved to Washington, D.C., San Antonio and Dallas, Texas, while he served with the War Manpower Commission, ! before returning to Boise in 1946. He and Grace enjoyed 49 years of marriage before her death on Dec. 11, 1985. For the past 13 years, he has enjoyed life with Lura Rosenstock Newcomb whom he married on Aug. 12, 1988. During his life, Mr. Thompson enjoyed a long career in real estate. In 1946, he joined his brother-in-law, Paul B. Larsen, at Paul B. Larsen and Associates as a broker until his retirement in 1992 at the age of 78. Upon retiring, he formed his own company, Victor M. Thompson Realtors, which he owned until 1994. Throughout his life, Mr. Thompson filled a variety of church positions as well as various civic, work-related and social responsibilities. He was past president of many organizations, including the Boise Realty Board, Sales and Marketing Executives (SME), and Boise Noon Optimists Club, of which he was the last surviving charter member. He was an avid golfer and longtime member of the Hillcrest Country Club, where he served as a member of the executive bo! ard. Other interests include memberships with various bowling leagues, where he received many awards and trophies for his accomplishments, and traveling to many exciting destinations. Survivors include his wife, Lura of Boise; two daughters, Kathryn Stedman of Kirkland, Wash., and Patricia Wilks of Aloha, Ore.; a son, John of Boise; a sister, Vera Howell of Boise; six granddaughters, Patricia (Darryl) Glenn, Joanna Stedman, Carrie (Eric) Ahlstrom, Jenn (Ryan) Harbertson, Sarah (Danny) Watson, and Kimberly Thompson; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his great-granddaughter, Alyssa Grace Ahlstrom. Survivors also include three stepsons, Douglas Newcomb and his wife, Kathy, Richard Newcomb and his wife, Toni, and Mark Newcomb and his wife, Lynn; and four stepgrandchildren, Chad, Kurt, Kelsey and Alec. The family suggests that memorials may be made to the Boise Noon Optimists Club, P.O. Box 190991, Boise 83719. Friends may call Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at t! he Relyea Funeral Chapel, 318 N. Latah.
