She was born Jan. 4, 1909, in Sanford, Colorado, the daughter of Lewis Burton and Eliza Johanna Funk Westover. She married Hyrum Joseph Ward on Feb. 5, 1930, in the Logan Temple. He preceded her in death on April 15, 1999. She served as a temple officiator in the Logan and Ogden Temples. She was active in all the auxiliaries, especially the Primary organization. She made numerous quilts, afghans, and thousands of hangars. She was an example of lifelong service to friends and family. She is survived by three daughters and four sons, Clarice (Irven) Hatch, Preston; Arlo V. (LoRaine) Ward, Ogden, Utah; Joseph L. (Della) Ward, Preston; Earl H. (Anna Mae) Ward, Dayton, Idaho; Merlin (Helen) Ward, Ogden, Utah; Carol (Lyle) Henderson, Clifton, Idaho; Lucille (Larry) Wilkinson, Bountiful, Utah; by thirty-three grandchildren, ninety-five great grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, and by five sisters and six brothers. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2002, at noon in the Clifton Second Ward Chapel with Bishop Neil Fuller conducting. Friends may call Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 109 E. Oneida, Preston, and Tuesday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Clifton Cemetery.
