Alta was born on June 21, 1899, in Richmond, Utah, the second child of Joseph and Cora Jane Hendricks Webb. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Alta had three brothers (all deceased) Renaul, Milton, and Delmar, and two sisters, Verda Bickmore and Guelda Albretson (Deceased). Alta graduated from North Cache High in Richmond and attended USAC in Logan, Utah one year and taught school in Clarkston one year and Richmond for two years. Alta married Frank Lee Crockett of Whitney, Idaho, on June 20, 1923, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They lived in Whitney, Idaho, where DeVerle Frank and Florene were born. They then moved to Preston, Idaho, where Aldeane, Armond Lee, Clyll Webb, Reed George and Rees Joseph were born. In 1950 the family moved to Pocatello, Idaho. After Frank retired in 1964, Alta and Frank went on an LDS mission to the Gulf States in Greenville, Mississippi. In 1969, they started spending their winters in Arizona. Frank passed away in 1980. Alta lived in River Heights, Utah, with her son, Reed and his wife, Joyce until July, 2001, at which time she moved to the Providence Assisted Living Center, Providence, Utah. Alta is survived by her children: DeVerle Frank (Roma) of Salt Lake City; Armond Lee (Kareen) of Bancroft, ID.; Clyll Webb (Nan) of Mesa, AZ; Reed George (Joyce) of Logan; Rees Joseph (Diane) of Idaho Falls, ID. She was preceded in death by her daughters, Florene (Kay) Mendenhall, and Aldeane (Stan) Fisher of Pocatello, ID. Alta's posterity includes seven children, 34 grandchildren, 110 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren. A viewing will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2002, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center, Logan, Utah. Funeral services will be held following the viewing at 2 p.m. with Bishop Steven Barfuss conducting. Interment at the Whitney, Idaho Cemetery.
