He died May 24, 2002. He lived in Hegler, Rockland and Preston, Idaho. He married Evelyn Allen on July 9, 1939. They were later divorced. While married to Evelyn, he moved his family to Roy, Utah and worked for Hill AFB until his retirement on July 1, 1972. He also worked at the Clearfield Navy Depot. He married Letha D. Farnsworth on July 30, 1965. She preceded him in death. Leonard loved working with his hands and was a master mechanic and all around handy person. He and his wife, Letha served a six-year church mission at the LDS Geneological Library in Ogden, Utah. Surviving are one son, Leonard Terry (JoeAnne) Pitkin, Sunset, UT; two daughters, Vicky Dowhower, PA, and Lynnette (John) Alfera, WV; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Verda Wallis, W. Covina, CA. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 29, 2002 at Myers Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West, Roy, with President Brad Beyeler officiating. Friends and family may call on Tuesday night from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday morning from 9:45 to 10:45 at the mortuary. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of the Harrison Regent Assisted Living Center for their kind and loving care they provided Leonard.
