He was born April 25, 1911 to Edward and Annie Hobbs Benzley in Blackfoot Idaho. His career took him from Blackfoot to Pocatello, Preston, Rexburg, Idaho Falls and then back to Pocatello Idaho. His retirement years were spent in Centerville. In 1935 he married Myrtice Evans in the Logan Utah Temple. Myrtice passed away on March 9, 1975. He married Elizabeth Ralphene Crane Varley for time in the Salt Lake City Temple August 6, 1976. He is survived by his two sons and their wives, Robert and Dianne Benzley of Star Valley, Wyoming, and Steven and Karen Benzley of Provo, Utah. He has seven grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by three stepsons and their wives, Frank and Judith Varley of Poulsbo Washington, John and Anita Varley of Boseman Montana, and Steven and Sandy Varley of Salt Lake City, Utah. He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Car! oline Benzley. He was employed by the First Security Bank of Idaho for forty-nine years. He began his career with First Security in Pocatello as a bank messenger in 1929. In 1947 he was transferred to Preston Idaho to become the manager of the Preston office. At thirty-six years of age he was the youngest bank manager in Idaho. In 1952 he became the manager of the Rexburg office of the bank and in 1962 he was promoted to be vice president and manager of the Idaho Falls banks. He was later transferred to Pocatello and served as vice president of the First Security District Credit Office and supervisor for the thirteen eastern Idaho offices. He enjoyed golfing, traveling, singing, dancing, and good food. He was a long time member and supporter of Rotary International, being a Rotarian with perfect weekly meeting attendance for thirty-two years. He served as President of the Chamber of Commerce for both Preston and Rexburg Idaho and also as the President of the Rexburg Rotary ! Club. He has been an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of La tter-day Saints for his entire life. He has served in numerous church positions. He particularly enjoyed his service as a host on temple square, as a member locater missionary at the church offices, and assisting in sealings Wednesday mornings at the Bountiful Temple. Services will be held in the Centerville Park Meadows Ward Chapel, 950 N. Main, Centerville, Utah Tuesday, March 13th at 11:00 a.m. Viewings will be held at the Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 N. Main, Bountiful, Utah, Monday, March 12 from 6-8 p.m. and prior to the services at the chapel from 9:45-10:45 a.m. Interment will follow the services and will be at the Pocatello, Idaho Cemetery.
