She was born January 16, 1923 in Preston, Idaho, to Philando and Veressa Packer. She was one of nine children. Nada served in World War II as a Wave in the Navy in Washington, D.C., where she met her husband Osborne Nathaniel Smith, a Marine. They were married in 1945 and moved to Duncan, AZ, where they raised their six children. She always said the greatest joy in her life was her family and she loved to be with them. Nada was a strong and devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She faithfully served in many church callings, and joyfully served in the Mesa Temple for 17 years. She touched many people whose lives will be forever better because of her. She is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Osborne and son Jesse Nathaniel. She is survived by son Ray Osborne (Vickie) of Mesa, AZ; daughters Nadine Wilkinson (Terry) of Conroe, TX; Carol Jean Carpenter (Bob) of Lakeside, AZ; ! Beverly of Mesa, AZ; Susan Crandell (David) of Mesa, AZ; 22 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Ellis, Doyle, James, Laura, and VaLoy. Visitation will be Tuesday March 6, 2007 from 6-8 p.m. at Bunker's Garden Chapel, 33 N. Centennial Way, Mesa, AZ. Funeral services will be held Wednesday March 7, 2007 at 11 a.m. with a viewing one hour prior at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2549 N. 32nd St. (North of McKellips Rd.) Mesa, AZ.
