He was the oldest of 7 children. He passed away March 12, 2007 at age 74 in St. George, UT of natural causes. Denis married Julia E. Curr on April 14, 1956 in St. Anthony, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple on January 13, 1959. They were the parents of three children, Damita Kaye, Brad Hughes and Garth Thomas. Denis made a career of the Idaho Army National Guard and retired as a Lt. Colonel in 1985. He made his home in Boise, Idaho where he was an active member of the L.D.S. Church holding many callings. He was living in Boise, Idaho until the death of his beloved wife Judy, in May 2006 and his loving daughter Damita, in July 2006. He and Brad moved to St. George, UT in August 2006. Along with his wife and daughter, he was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters. He is survived by his sons Brad and Garth, his grandson Nathan Migneault, one sister and three brothers. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at the Curtis Road L.D.S. Chapel located at 701 S. Curtis Road. Friends may call to visit with the family from 6-8 on Monday at Relyea Funeral Chapel and from 11:30 a.m. - 12:15 at the church prior to the services. Interment will be in the Idaho Veterans Cemetery in Boise, Idaho with full military honors. Published in the Idaho Statesman on 3/17/2007.
