He was born on November 29, 1919, in Wenatchee, Washington, to Olen Dufferron and Lucy Park Searle Kaiser. He married Margaret May Shafer on August 10, 1947, in Willington, California. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan, Utah Temple. Elmer was very skilled mechanically. He served in the Merchant Marines during World War II. After the war, he was employed performing maintenance on numerous ships' boilers. He worked at the University of Cal Berkeley for 14 years as a maintenance technician on boilers and steam heating systems, and he was employed by Pepperidge Farm for 19 years, where he retired. He is survived by his wife, Margaret, of Preston; two sons, Michael Lee (Kim) Kaiser, Caldwell, Idaho, and Jeff Allen (Connie) Kaiser, Monument, Colo.; and five grandchildren, Cassandra, Talia, Jacob, Olivia, and Max. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Owen and Dohman Kaiser, and one sister, Margaret Dyson. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 12, 2007, at 11 a.m. in the Preston 10th Ward Chapel, 155 North 200 West, in Preston, with President Doug Roper conducting. Friends may call Monday, March 12 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Preston Cemetery. Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of Webb Funeral Home in Preston.
