He was born August 8, 1973, in Logan, Utah, to William Richard Jr. and Ann Doney Harris. He grew up learning to love the farm and animals. He spent much of his time outdoors hunting, fishing, and playing a variety of sports. He graduated from Preston High School and LDS Seminary in 1991. He then served an honorable mission to Oaxaca, Mexico, for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He developed a great love for the Mexican people and their culture. He married his sweetheart and eternal companion, Edith Marilyn Munk, in the Logan Temple on Oct. 14, 1995. From this union, they were blessed with four beautiful children, who were the light of his life. He was never too busy to spend time with his kids. Together they would enjoy camping, cooking out, fishing and hunting. He loved watching his children participate in any type of sports or any other activity in which they were involved in. He also treasured and looked forward to time spent at the Harris Family Cabin and Cottonwood Lake in Wyoming, where his fishing stories were never ending. His love for people led him to becoming a proud and successful AFLAC associate. He visited clients often and always with a smile on his face. He always made sure that they were taken care of in every way. He made a forever friend working side by side with Jason Jamison, whom he lost two years ago in a tragic farming accident. He was an active member in the Franklin Second Ward where he served and enjoyed various callings such as ward financial clerk, Young Men's counselor, and Primary and Nursery teacher. He especially loved working with the youth in the scouting program. Shawn was loved by all he came in contact with. He has given everlasting memories to all his family and friends. He got along with everyone, and he always made sure his family knew he loved them. Shawn is survived by his wife, Marilyn, and their four children, Austyn, Jakob, Jessyka, and Jayson, all of Franklin; his loving parents, William Richard Jr. and Ann Doney Harris of Franklin; brothers and sisters, Rick (Tara) Harris of Fairview; Deb (Jody) Godderidge of Smithfield, Utah; Rashann (Wess) Dean of Franklin; Shawn's in-laws, Allen Munk and Danielle Jacobson of Lewiston, Utah; sisters-in-law, Kim Hess and Raquel Esquivel; brother-in-law, Joe (Lexi) Munk of Logan, Utah. Shawn is also survived by his grandparents, William Richard and Mary Ellen Harris of Richmond, Utah, and Marilyn's grandparents, Dan and Edie Jacobson of Eugene, Oregon. He is also survived by loving nieces and nephews, RJ, Cambree, and Garrett Harris of Fairview; Tristie, Colby, and Natalee Dean of Franklin; Nicole and Natasha Hess and TJ Esquivel of Lewiston, Utah, and many uncles and aunts who loved him immeasurably. Preceding Shawn in death are his grandparents, Conrad and Areta Doney and Claire Harris, and best friend, Jason Jamison, whom all welcomed him home with open arms. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 6, 2007, at 12 noon in the Franklin Stake Center, 106 E. Main, Franklin.
