He was born October 21, 1932 in Clifton, Idaho to Fredrick A. and Kathryn Murray Stalder. Married the love of his life and eternal companion, Joan Noble, February 10, 1954, in the Logan Temple. Upon graduation from Logan High School, he continued his education at USU and graduated with a degree in Landscape Architecture. He served his country in the US Army as a 2nd and 1st Lt. Reed worked with the US Forest Service and BLM, leaving his mark across the Utah and national landscape where he helped design many campgrounds. He served in many capacities in the LDS Church including YM's President, Sunday School President, Scout Master, Elders Quorum Secretary, Elders Quorum President, Counselor in the Bishopric, High Priest Group Leader, Gospel Doctrine instructor, Executive Secretary (five Bishops), Stake High Councilor, and Bishop. He loved serving the Lord. He also loved spending time with his family as he felt they were his greatest treasure. Survived by wife of 53 years, Joan; children: Cindy (Arden) McQueen, Kathy (Bruce) Anderson, Julie (Phillip) Dunn, Fred (Belinda) Stalder, Jane (Brett) Ratcliffe, Steve (Kirsty) Stalder; 28 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Dee; sisters: Carol Ann and Marilyn. Preceded in death by his parents; two granddaughters and two brothers-in-law. Funeral services will be held Fri., March 16, 11:00 a.m. at the Paradise Ward, 1555 Lovely Road, Taylorsville. Viewings will be held Thursday, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Friday at the church, 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates.
