She was born April 18, 1916, in Thatcher, Idaho, the daughter of Perry Floyd and H. Ellen Coombs Ivie. She moved with her family to the View area in 1926. Lydia married George A. Anderson on Nov. 6, 1931. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Mesa Arizona Temple on March 4, 1950. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had served in various capacities on the ward and stake level in Idaho, Virginia, California, Utah and later again in Idaho. She was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. For 16 years, Lydia designed showroom displays and display lines for six traveling salesmen for a wholesale jewelry company in Salt Lake City, Utah. Survivors include two sons, Darwin Anderson of Pittsburg, Calif., and Robert Anderson of Irvine, Calif.; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Ruth Ivie Gifford of Lindon, Utah; and two brothers, Rex Floyd Ivie of Antioch, Calif., and David Russell Ivie of Burley. Lydia was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Percy Jay Ivie, who died as an infant; her husband, George; her son, Edwin Evert Anderson; her sisters, Ona Ivie Blackmore and Theresa Ivie Ray; her brothers, Evert Coombs Ivie and Burton Alma Ivie; and a grandson, Michael. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 28, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Burley West Stake Center, 2420 Parke Ave., with Bishop Gary Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the funeral Saturday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Payne Mortuary, 221 W.
