She was born July 9, 1924, in Salt Lake City, Utah, the oldest daughter of Rubin and Jessie Sprunt Sharp. She grew up in Preston, Idaho, and graduated from Preston High School. Ione married Nason Johnson on Nov. 11, 1943, in the Logan LDS Temple. He preceded her in death June 27, 1998. Ione worked as a cook for the North Cache Middle School for 23 years. She was a wonderful cook and mother. She is survived by her children, Carol (Blain) Allen of Lewiston, Utah, Connie (David) Wood of Amalga, Utah, Tom (Chloe) Johnson of Aurora, Colo., Jim (Jodee) Johnson of Logan, Utah, Sally (Steve) Buttars of Richmond, David (Shellie) Johnson of Price, Utah, and Gary (Annette) Johnson of Draper, Utah; 20 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers and eight sisters. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nason; and her parents. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, April 13, in the Richmond Stake Center, 135 W. Main with Bishop Kendall Petersen conducting. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the church in Richmond, and from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday, also at the church. Interment will be in the Richmond Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Webb Funeral Home in Preston, Idaho. Published in the Logan Herald Journal from 4/11/2007 - 4/17/2007.
