She was born July 9, 1922, in Preston, Idaho, to Edward Percel and Alice Taylor Talbot. She was the fourth of six children. Ruth married Charles LaVere Nielsen on April 19, 1939, in the Logan Temple. He preceded her in death after 50 years of marriage. Ruth lived her entire life in Winder, Idaho, where she was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter and sister. She had many callings in the church, including Relief Society president and wife of a bishop for seven and a half years. After the death of her husband, Ruth served an 18-month mission in the Tacoma, Washington mission; after returning from her mission she was called to serve as an officiator in the Logan Temple, where she served faithfully for 14 years until her health required her to be released. Ruth is survived by daughters, Sonja (Jerry) Moore of Preston, Idaho, Charlene (Forrest) Oliverson of San Antonio, Texas; and sons, Kim (Nancy) Nielsen of Alexandria, Va., Kevin (Becky) Nielsen, of Corvallis, Ore.; 22 grandchildren, 14 greatgrandchildren; and two sisters, Zilla Buchanan of Logan, Utah, and Cleo Rumley of Las Vegas, Nev. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, a brother, two sisters and a granddaughter. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 5, 2007, at 1 p.m. in the Winder LDS Chapel, with Bishop Clendon Christensen conducting. Friends may call Wednesday, April 4, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 109 East Oneida in Preston, and Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the church in Winder.
