Born March 20, 1926 in Fairview, Idaho to Joseph V. and Alice B. Steers, she was the oldest of five children. After graduation from Preston High School, she worked at the Ogden Defense Depot during the war. She met George Lester Lambirth, a Wake Island survivor employed by Morrison Knudsen, and was married Oct. 30, 1948. They raised five children: Jule Marie, Elana, Pamela Sue, George Michael and Peggy Carolee. After 30 years of marriage she was widowed. She became reacquainted with Harold "Babe" Raney, an old friend and enjoyed traveling and companionship with him for 14 years before his passing in 1998. Mom worked 20 years for the U.S. Government, retiring in 1985 from the Forest Service. Mom loved crafts and handiwork of all kinds, quilting, sewing, cross-stitching, macramé, knitting, crocheting, creating many treasures we will all enjoy for our li! fetimes. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Maxine and the two loves of her life, George Lambirth and Harold "Babe" Raney. She is survived by her brothers, Gene (Carole) of Windsor, Calif., Budd (Marilyn) of Vacaville, Calif., her sister, JoAnn (Wayne) Wimmer of Logan, Utah, her children: Jule Metcalf of Kailua, Hawaii, Elana Lambirth of Lake Oswego, Ore., Pam (JR) Barnett of New Meadows, Idaho, Mike (Lisa) Lambirth of Cascade, Idaho, and Carolee (Dodge) Quijano of Tacoma, Wash.; her grandchildren: Cristin, Shannon and Eyron Fry; Kelly Flowers, Kari Clark, Kathy Metcalf, Tammie and Todd Barnett, Chris and Matt Quijano, Jarrett, Hunter and Kelsey Lambirth and eight great- grandchildren. Services will be held Saturday July 21, 2007 at 10 a.m. at Thomason Funeral Home, 221 E. Court Street, Weiser. Graveside Services to follow at Meadows Valley Cemetery, New Meadows, Idaho. In lieu of lowers, please make donations to the American Lung Association, St. Alphons! us Life Flight, the Alzheimer Foundation or the American Heart Associa tion.
