She was born March 15, 1920, at Fielding, Utah, the daughter of Mark Minnion and Alice Dalton Leavitt. She graduated from Bear River High School. She married Milton R. Smith September 15, 1938, in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple. He passed away April 20, 1999. Alice was a member of the Thatcher LDS Ward. She had served in both the ward and stake Young Women's programs; taught Relief Society; was an ordinance worker on Group 6 at the Logan LDS Temple for over 20 years. She served on the Grace School Board; Caribou County Fair Board for many years; Farm Bureau committees; also state women's president of Farm Bureau. She enjoyed writing, poetry, card games, crafts and keeping in touch with family and friends. Alice is survived by one son and two daughters and their spouses, Brad (Lela) Smith, Thatcher, Idaho, Loy Raye Phillips, Grace, Idaho, and Peggy (Walter) Rosdahl, Smithfield, Utah; also 10 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Ray Byron Rosdahl. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, April 23, at noon at the Thatcher LDS Ward Chapel, with Bishop Steve Smith officiating. Friends may call on Sunday evening, April 22, at the Sims Funeral Home in Soda Springs from 7 to 8 p.m. and on Monday at the Thatcher Chapel from 10 to 11:30 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be in the Thatcher Cemetery. The family suggests donations may be made to the LDS Temple Building Fund or the Missionary Fund. Services are under the direction of the Sims Funeral Home. He was born December 28, 1905 to Arthur William and Evadyna Henderson Hart in Farmington, Utah. Mickey married Helen Smith May 31, 1939 in the Salt Lake Temple. Mickey grew up in Preston, Idaho. He graduated from Utah State University. He and his brother Mark wrote the USU pep song, "Hail the Utah Aggies". He attended Chicago Musical College (Northwestern University) for two years. Mickey taught school at USU, McCammon High, Idaho and Cyprus High in Magna, Utah. His dance band played over Utah, Idaho and Wyoming. He founded Hart Bros. Music. He wrote many songs: The Heavens Were Opened, If Christ Should Come Tomorrow, He That Hath Clean Hands, They Found Him in the Temple, I Walked in God's Garden, God Knows, My Mother's Prayer, Here's To Utah. He served an LDS mission to California and an 8-year stake mission. He served in many church callings. He loved missionary wor! k. He has 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He is survived by his wife: Helen, children: Melodee, Richard (Sandy), Kathy (Doug), Michael (Jody); brothers: Jed, Newt, Bret; sisters: Adina Evadyna, Rhea, Arlette, Elna, Ada, Jocelyn. Preceded in death by parents and brothers: Arthur, Halo, Mark, Reed, Joel, Newell, Wendell, Neal; Sisters: Sabina, Hermoine. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 23, 2007 at 12:00 Noon at the Wilford Stake, 3080 South 1765 East. He was born April 29, 1928, in Weston, Idaho, the son of Thomas Jesper and Aramitha Briggs Rasmussen. He graduated from Weston High School and attended Utah State College. He married Joan Benson on June 9, 1952, in the Logan LDS Temple. He loved trains and worked for Union Pacific Railroad for 33 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and blacksmithing. He was an excellent handyman and "jack-of-all-trades." He took care of the Weston LDS church for many years. He is survived by his wife, Joan B. of Weston; three sons and two daughters, Rick J. (Chris) Rasmussen of Sandy, Utah, Roland D. (Jana) Rasmussen of West Jordan, Utah, Deborah A. (Greg) Garner of Weston, Russell L. (Betty) Rasmussen of West Jordan, Utah, Deserae (Steve) Holm of Sandy, Utah; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters and one brother, Elda (Wayne) Petersen, LaRue Stone and Loren (Ruth Ann) Rasmussen all of Soda Springs, Idaho. He was preceded in death by his parents; and by a sister, Lucille Rasmussen. He had been under the care of Hospice of Eastern Idaho, and Inspiration Hospice of Salt Lake City. He was born Jan. 4, 1926, in Preston, Idaho, to William Reed and Maggie Whitehead Jamison. He attended Preston High School, serving as Student Body President. He served in the U. S. Army in the Phillipines and in the first occupation of Japan. He then served a mission to the Central United States. He worked as a tree surgeon in California, then attended USAC in Logan, Utah, earning his Bachelor's Degree. While attending college, he met Rosalie Arave. They were married June 4, 1953, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. While raising their family, he worked as an Architect in the building industry. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served in numerous positions including counselor to the bishop, scouting, and missions with his wife to Arkansas, Salt Lake City and in Idaho Falls. He enjoyed spending time as a caring grandfather, camping, skiing, and bungie jumping. Survivors include his wife, Rosalie Jamison of Idaho Falls; sons, Orland "Rey" (Rose) Jamison of Kennewick, Wash., Terrell "Reed" (Brenda) Jamison of Iona, Idaho, David Kay (Linda) Jamison of Coltman, Idaho, Cary (Janna) Jamison of Orem, Utah, Kevin (Tami) Jamison of Kennewick; daughters, Valerie Jamison of Fallbrook, Calif., Anita (Garry) Burke of Idaho Falls, Marilee (Tevita) Tuifua of So. He was born March 1, 1934 in Franklin, Idaho, a son of Merle Eugene Sr. and Margaret Whitehead Adamson. On October 8, 1952, Merle married Rene Herd in Franklin, Idaho. Their marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on June 10, 1964. She preceded him in death on December 4, 1995. He was raised and educated in Franklin, Idaho moving to the Ogden area at the age of 18. Merle was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a telecommunications technician for many years. Merle was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and enjoyed fishing. Surviving are two sons and two daughters, Jeffrey (Paulette, dec.) Adamson, Layton; Darren (Jill) Adamson, Murrieta, CA; Rindy (Mike) Kennedy, Morgan; Tammy (Bill) Salerno, Ogden; 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Leishman on June 22, 1956 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She has been an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many positions. She performed volunteer work at local schools, and sang at many church and community functions and taught piano to dozens of children. Anna Mae was the Merced County Branch Librarian in Los Banos for 13 years, retiring in 1989. She h! as lived in Santa Maria, Calif. since 1994. He grew up and attended school in Logan, Utah. In 1951 he married Carol Sorenson of Preston, Idaho. Two children were born into this family, Susan, and L. Steven. Since 1990 he and Carol have spent their time between their homes in Albuquerque, N.M., and Preston, Idaho. He enjoyed many summer months fishing in the reservoirs in Franklin County. Lawrence was a patriot, always proud to be a citizen of this magnificent country. He was inducted into the Army in May 1943. While in the army he served in the 34th Division of the 5th Army in the invasion and liberation of Italy. In Italy he was presented with a Purple Heart He returned to Logan following World War II. He and his brother Dale opened the Andrews Service Garage. He was called back into the Army in 1951 when his Army Reserve unit was activated during the Korean conflict. At that time he was assigned to an Army Replacement Depot in Germany for three years. While in Germany he made the decision to make the Regular Army his full time career. He spent the next 13 years as the sergeant major of the Oregon Army Recruiting Station in Portland, Ore. In 1968 he served a one year hardship tour in Teagu, Korea, where he was acting command sergeant major of the 8th Army. His next assignment was sergeant major of the New York City, Long Island Army Recruiting Command. He held that position for the next three years. He was reassigned to Albuquerque, N.M., as the sergeant major of Army Recruiting to help establish a new recruiting district for New Mexico and northwestern Texas. He retired from the Army in 1978 in Albuquerque, N.M., after 30 years of active duty. After his retirement from the Army, he became a connoisseur of old Western movies - preferably in black and white with the hero and villain identified by their white or black hat. He loved watching baseball, the all-American game. When he could gather a buddy, Lawrence enjoyed golfing. His name even appeared in the newspaper after hitting a hole-in-one. Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents; brother Dale; and sister Ruth. Lawrence is survived by his wife Carol; daughter Susan (James Wilkie); son L. Steven (Leigh-Ann); grandson Steven Wilkie; brother Richard Andrews and his wife Suzanne; sister LuDene Bickmore and her husband Rulon; brother-in-law, Jack Buttars; sister-in-law Wilma Surface; and grandchildren through marriage Alex Wilkie (Irina), Andrew Wilkie, and Jessica Wilkie. After a courageous battle with heart disease and cancer, he passed away peacefully April 7, 2007. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 12, 2007, in the Preston 1st/5th/8th Ward chapel, 213 S. 200 E., Preston, with Bishop Randy Wakley conducting. Haworth, 74, died Thursday, April 5, 2007 at Heritage Park Care Center after a courageous battle with bone cancer. He was born September 6, 1932 in Logan, Utah a son of James H. and Cora Stocks Haworth. He traveled with his parents throughout Utah, Idaho and Wyoming while his dad worked construction. At age ten, they moved to a farm in Franklin, Idaho. He attended Franklin School and graduated from Preston High School in 1950. He attended Utah State Agricultural College and Weber State College. Gary joined the U.S. Marine Corp on January 29, 1953 while his mother was giving birth to his baby sister, Jan. He was honorably discharged on January 29, 1956. While a Marine he earned the marksmanship expert rank. On June 15, 1957, Gary married Faye Henderson in Smithfield, Utah. They lived in Layton before moving to Roy on Thanksgiving Day in 1966. He quickly established his basement habitat with his fireplace, remote control and comfy couch. They had two daughters, Laurie and Annette. Gary worked at Hill Air Force Base as an electronics technician for 36 years. He retired January 1, 1989 at age 56. Gary loved to hunt, spend time with his brother, Wayne, at his cabin in Cascade, Idaho, cut down huge trees, and drive around in his scout looking for something to shoot. He loved his hunting dogs and always seemed to be feeding a stray cat. He knew everything there was to know about airplanes. He loved to play with his grandchildren. The family wishes to express a special thanks to Sherman Olsen for the countless hours he spent reminiscing with Gary and doing "fix-its" for Faye. The family also wishes to thank the nurses and CNA's at Heritage Park for their patience and care. They were his "buddies". Gary is survived by his wife, Faye; daughters, Annette Brinkman, of Centerville; and Laurie Haworth, of Salt Lake City; three grandchildren, Brent, Tyson and Tawny; and one sister, Jan (Dave) Yeates of Wellsville. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Wayne and Jimmy. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 9th at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist's Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South. She was born July 9, 1922, in Preston, Idaho, to Edward Percel and Alice Taylor Talbot. She was the fourth of six children. Ruth married Charles LaVere Nielsen on April 19, 1939, in the Logan Temple. He preceded her in death after 50 years of marriage. Ruth lived her entire life in Winder, Idaho, where she was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter and sister. She had many callings in the church, including Relief Society president and wife of a bishop for seven and a half years. After the death of her husband, Ruth served an 18-month mission in the Tacoma, Washington mission; after returning from her mission she was called to serve as an officiator in the Logan Temple, where she served faithfully for 14 years until her health required her to be released. Ruth is survived by daughters, Sonja (Jerry) Moore of Preston, Idaho, Charlene (Forrest) Oliverson of San Antonio, Texas; and sons, Kim (Nancy) Nielsen of Alexandria, Va., Kevin (Becky) Nielsen, of Corvallis, Ore.; 22 grandchildren, 14 greatgrandchildren; and two sisters, Zilla Buchanan of Logan, Utah, and Cleo Rumley of Las Vegas, Nev. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, a brother, two sisters and a granddaughter. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 5, 2007, at 1 p.m. in the Winder LDS Chapel, with Bishop Clendon Christensen conducting. Friends may call Wednesday, April 4, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 109 East Oneida in Preston, and Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the church in Winder. He was born on Mother's Day, May 8, 1961, to Cecil Lindley and Linda Nell Anderson. He was raised in Paradise, Utah, where he worked closely with his beloved grandfather on the Diamond M Ranch - a family farm. He graduated from Sky View High and also achieved the recognition of becoming an Eagle Scout. Deloy had the opportunity of attending the National Scout Jamboree in Valley Forge , Pa. He took Jennifer Auger's hand in marriage Nov. 22, 1985, and they shared four children, Ashley (Jason) Henrie, Joshua Lindley, Hollie (Demetrie) Bithoulkas and Bryant Auger. He was an outstanding dairyman and competitive modified hillclimb snowmobiler. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed family and friends and being a family man, putting his kids and loved ones first. In 2000 Deloy relocated his family to Preston, Idaho, where he obtai! ned a CDL and put in many miles over the road. He fought a courageous battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, William and Myrtle Lindley and Lenore Olsen. He is survived by his grandfather, Marion Olsen; his parents; four children; one granddaughter, Allison Henrie; two sisters, Cinde (Bill) Young of Paradise, Janna (Steve) Gibbs of Avon; and Jeremy (Chantel) Lindley of Logan; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at noon on Tuesday, April 3, at the Allen-Hall Mortuary. A viewing will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. prior to services. Reed was born to Alfred and Ethel Jensen on March 2, 1925, in Weston, Idaho. On March 7, 1947, he married his sweetheart, Verla Radford, in Logan, Utah, and they were later sealed in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Reed and Verla started their family in Weston and later moved to Pocatello, Idaho. They then moved to Twin Falls, Idaho, where they have lived the majority of their lives together and have many great memories with family and friends. He loved camping and fishing with his grandsons and other family. Reed was known as a man of integrity and generously gave his time to help others. A master carpenter, Reed loved his work and his legacy of his craft of building homes and carpentry work will be remembered. He was a World War II veteran and served in the Pacific Theater in the Navy for four years and loved his country. Reed was a member of the LDS church and served with love and care. His strength of character and quiet service will be remembered and missed. He is survived by his wife, Verla; his three children, Janet of Twin Falls, Becky LaMay of Boise, Idaho, and John of Twin Falls. He is also survived by his brother, Perry (Pat) of Twin Falls, and Carol (Jerry) Strickland of Wendell; six grandsons, Eric, Ian, Andy, Ben, Joe and Wesley; and six great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 3, in the Twin Falls 5th Ward Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 421 Maurice N. Inurnment will take place at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 5, at the Westin Cemet-ery. A special thanks to the wonderful and caring people at Idaho Home Health and Hospice. She was born December 22, 1909, at Cleveland, Idaho, the daughter of Albert and Mary Leona Townley Sant. Carmen was raised and educated in Thatcher and Grace, graduating from Grace High School. She married Nels Roholt May 22, 1931, in Brigham City, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple on the 17th of February 1947. Nels passed away April 10, 2002. She was a member of the Thatcher LDS Ward and enjoyed visiting teaching and other Relief Society activities. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, flowers, cooking and was always interested in her family and friends. Carmen is survived by one son and one daughter, Gail (Clarice) Roholt and Leona (Mark) Peterson, all of Grace, Idaho. Also surviving are 20 grandchildren and numerous great- and greatgreat-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a son, Eugene Albert Roholt, a daughter, Connie Nadine Rhead, one greatgrandson, Wyatt DeKay and three brothers and one sister, Archie, Dell, Percy and Eudora. Kofoed, 90, a resident of Sedro Wooley, Washington, passed away Saturday, February 3, 2007, at the Life Care Center of Skagit Valley. He was born on February 28, 1916, in Preston, Idaho, to Oliver L. and Mabel (Byington) Kofoed. Walter attended school in and worked the family farm until he enlisted into the U.S. Air Force. Serving our country during World War II, he met the love of his life, Elizabeth Stelle, at a USO in New Jersey. They were married in Blackfoot, Idaho, on October 27, 1945, and they made their home on the naval base in Arco, Idaho, where Walter worked as a machinist. They later resided in Pocatello, Idaho, for 20 years. Walter worked as a maintenance engineer for Bannock Memorial Hospital and St. Anthony's Hospital in Pocatello. He relocated to American Falls, to work at Lamb-Weston Inc., as a maintenance engineer. Walter retired to Blackfoot, and lived by his youngest daughter. He then later resided in Boise with his oldest daughter until they moved to Skagit County, Wash. Walter was an outdoor conservationist, and an avid hunter and fisherman. He is preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth, a son, Walter L. Kofoed, an infant daughter, three brothers and three sisters and his parents. He is survived by three daughters, Gail Snodgrass of Burlington, Wash., Connie (Will) Gotcher of Ontario, Ore., and Karen Kofoed of Boise, Idaho; one son, Wendall Kofoed of Canada; three brothers, Clyde (Shirley) of Utah, Glen Kofoed of California, and Dean Kofoed of Idaho; his four grandchildren, Tami Cooper, Shane Westerguard, Melissa and Russell Strittmatter; nine greatgrandchildren; along with numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held March 31, 2007, at 2 p.m. at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, with military honors provided by the Pocatello Veterans Honor Guard.
