She was born June 11, 1920, in Schwerin, Mecklenburg, Germany, to Johannes Heinrich Wilhelm Jantzen and Clara Frieda Kapernick. Lotte married Robert D. Callis on May 28, 1955, in Ayrshire, Scotland. They retired and moved to Long Beach, Calif., where Lotte became a citizen of the United States of America. They then moved to Preston, Idaho, where they lived until Robert's death on Jan. 21, 1998. Lotte then moved to the Heritage Home where she resided until January 1, 2007, when she moved the Franklin County Transitional Care Center. Lotte is survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; and her parents. A short memorial service will be held Saturday, April 19, 2008, at Webb Funeral Home, 109 E. Oneida, in Preston. LuDean was born February 9, 1933 in Preston, ID to Rubin and Jessie Sprunt Sharp. She married Doyle Vinson Wood on March 16, 1951. They were sealed for time and all eternity December 13, 1951 in the Logan Temple. LuDean is a member of the LDS Church and has served in various positions in the primary and relief society. LuDean and Doyle served a mission at the Dallas Texas Temple. Together they also served as temple workers in the Ogden Temple for over four years. LuDean served in various leadership positions for the Daughters of Utah Pioneers in the Fruitvale Camp. Some of LuDean's favorite past times were quilting, sewing, crocheting, cooking, and baking for her family and friends. LuDean loved to read and do genealogy work. LuDean and Doyle enjoyed fishing and camping together, with all their friends and family. Once you became a friend of LuDean, you became her family. Surviving are her husband Doyle, children: Doyle Dean Wood, Corinne; Ethel (David) Morse, Washington Terrace; Rowena (Clif) Wood, Brigham City; Arlene (Don) Bronson, Corinne; Sara Wood, Corinne. 22 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are her siblings: Sherman Sharp, Donna May Ashe, Lucille Cook, Robert Sharp, Clair Sharp, Elsie Kay Sparrow, Deon Turner, Vernice Thomas and Elizabeth Hausauer. Preceded in death by her parents; son Clifton; daughter Audrene; granddaughter Samantha Gee; great-granddaughter Dreven Hess; Brothers: George Sharp and Gerald Sharp; sister Ione Johnson. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday April 10, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Corinne 1st ward 2325 North 4000 West, Corinne UT. He was born September 14, 1941 in Preston, Idaho, a son of Delloyd Chadwick and Wanda Marler Harris Jensen. Al married Helen B. Brown on June 27, 1970 in Elko, Nevada. They were later divorced. He married Janene Butters on January 30, 1998 in Ogden. He was raised and educated in Ogden graduating from Ogden High School. Al worked for Gateway Distributing for 37 years retiring in 2000. He then began working for Rocky Mountain Chrysler as a parts driver. He retired again in 2007. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles at the Roy Lodge. He completed all Chairs to become President and was a member for 40 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, golfing and was a member of the Staggs Car Club. Al was a very special person who always had a smile and a hug for everyone he came in contact with. Surviving are his wife, Janene, of Washington Terrace; six sons, Chad Jensen, Phoenix, AZ; Scott Jensen, Las Vegas, NV; Scott Harding, South Ogden; David Jensen, Richfield; Mike Jensen, Cedar City; Tracy Jensen, West Point; two daughters, Julie Snowball, Las Vegas, NV; Shelley Modahl, Plain City; and one stepdaughter, Heidi Szerzan. Preceding Al in death were his parents, one brother, Duane Jensen, and two sisters, Maureen Gilmore and LuDene Harrington. She is survived by two sisters Joan McNeel and Elsa Crookston, her sons L. Mack (Marlene),David J. (Charlene) Lynn A. (Voyle), Jay W. (Dixie), Sylvan R. (Erica), 26 grandchildren 46 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. She was an active member of the LDS faith, served 50 years in Primary and Relief Society nursery, faithful visiting teacher. Ruth was also a member of her ward choir for over 60 years. She was a service missionary at the Arizona Training Center in Randolph Arizona. She loved people and sharing her poetry, paintings, book marks and rugs she made with others. She was born June 5, 1936, in Preston, Idaho, the oldest child of Anna May Williamson and Kenneth Lloyd Sant. Hazel was raised in Preston, and graduated from Preston High School where she participated in FHA, Chorus and Pep Club. She attended Stevens-Heneger Business College in Salt Lake City, where she was honored at graduation for being the first student in the school's then 47 year history to receive two associates degrees: Accounting/Business Administration and Executive Secretary. Hazel worked as the accountant for the A. Keyser Company for ten years. During that time she was active in the Young Republicans, served as a secretary for the Salt Lake Association of Insurance Women, sang in Jay Welch's Sacra Dulce Choir and was a fan of the Salt Lake Bees and Utah Symphony. On May 11, 1964, she married Norman Keedy Sparks in the Salt Lake Temple. Her cousin, Elder Delbert L. Stapley, performed the ceremony. Over the next 12 years, the Sparks family grew and lived in Utah, Calif., and Nev., before settling back in her hometown of Preston, where they have lived and raised their family. She has always enjoyed being an active member of the church community and over the years has served as teacher, counselor, secretary and chorister in the various organizations. She has a strong testimony of the gospel, which was very important to her. After retirement she joined the Daughters of Utah Pioneers where she was lesson leader for her camp. After being a stay at home mom for many years, Hazel worked for a short time as a C.N.A. at the Franklin County Nursing Home and Sunshine Terrace before brushing up on her secretarial skills. She worked for 18 years at Utah State University's Center for Persons with Disabilities as an administrative assistant, retiring two years ago. She cherished the many friends she had at the university. Her greatest joy was her family she was so proud of them and their many accomplishments. She looked forward to the annual Sparks reunion and camping, hiking and enjoying the outdoors with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband Norman; seven children, Roger (Julie) Sparks, Phoenix, Ariz., William (Heather) Sparks, Salt Lake City, Utah, Daniel (Kari) Sparks, Orem, Utah, Catharine, Ashland, Ore., Michael of Preston, Susan of Preston, and Joann of Salt Lake City, Utah; special grandchildren Noah, Anna, Kyle, Maddie, Graysee, Abbey, and Olivia; a sister Linda; and a brother Lloyd also survive her. She was preceded in death by her parents brother Lyle; and sisters Loann, Una, and Elaine. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 18, 2008, in the Preston 8th Ward Chapel, 213 S. 2nd East with Bishop Randy Wakley conducting. He was born August 16, 1959 in Preston, Idaho to Wayne and Reva Sorenson Boyack, the second of six children. His countenance drew people to him and his humor was who he was. He graduated from Preston High School and joined the Idaho National Guard in 1977. After completing his basic training he served an honorable mission in the London South Mission in England. Even after his mission he was still a missionary. His career in finance took him to Albuquerque, New Mexico where he met his eternal companion Julie Combs and her two sons Gary and Guy. They were married in the Logan Temple February 12, 1988 and later their daughter Tiffany Ann was born. Curt loved life and adventure. He was an avid hunter and his grandsons and nephews' best fishing buddy. He served 30 years in the military participating in Des! ert Storm in 1991, the Salt Lake City Olympics in 2002, and Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2004-2005 where he received many medals and awards. He also was a reserve deputy officer for the Franklin County Sheriff's Department. Curt loved the church and his savior and served in many church callings. One of the most precious things in his life was his wife and best friend Julie. Together they enjoyed long walks, movies, camping, yard work, and anything outdoors. He loved being with his family and we know someday we will be with him again. He is survived by his wife Julie, his sons, Gary (Shoni) Combs, of Preston Guy Combs, Provo, UT; Tiffany Boyack (Jake Hobbs - fiancé) of Preston, five grandchildren, his parents Wayne and Reva Boyack of Preston, brothers Bob (Olivia) Boyack, Riverdale, ID; Bryan (Christi) Boyack, Preston; sisters Dianne (Jeff) Seamons, Preston; Tammy (Kevin) Boyack-Beck, Preston; many nieces and nephews, brothers-in-law Shane Gordon, Preston; James (Carol)! He married Lea Ann Crookston in January of 1980. They were later divorced. He was active in the LDS church and held a calling as a greeter in the Preston 7th Ward. He was employed by Big J's as a fry cook. He enjoyed the outdoors and liked hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed photography and collected matchbox tractors and cars as hobbies. He also served in the Air Force for four years. He is survived by a son, James Curtiss Whiting of Boise, Idaho; a sister, Tina (Glenn) Smedley of Preston; a brother George (Vickie) Whiting, Panguitch, Utah; many nieces and nephews; one grandson Owen Hudson Allen; and his ex-wife Lea Ann Crookston. He was born June 11, 1923, in Linrose, Idaho. His parents were Reuben Davis and Olga Mary Jensen Taylor. Dale graduated from Preston High School and married his high school sweetheart, Blanche Beckstead. They moved 10 times in their first 11 years of marriage. They settled into a new home on Canyon Road in the original Logan 8th Ward. Dale operated the Sinclair Service Station at 96 E. Center in Logan for many years until he started Dale's Used Cars on North Main Street. During his 40 years of selling cars in Logan, he developed many friendships and took great pleasure in helping others. One of Dale's favorite times of the day was meeting all of his buddies at Angie's or McDonald's to solve the issues of the day. Thank you for the good times. Dale and Blanche are the parents of five children, Karen (Bill) Zollinger, St. George, Steven (Bonnie) Taylor, North Salt Lake, Phil Taylor, Bountiful, Ellis (Diana) Taylor, Logan. Maurice, an infant son, preceded him in death. Dale and Blanche later divorced Dale married Evelyn Smith and enjoyed being with Evelyn's family, especially her children and grandchildren. They were very loving and kind to him. They spent many holidays and special occasions together as a family and will always remember the Sunday dinners. Dale and Evelyn later divorced. Dale is survived by his children and his brother and sisters, Homer and Gwen Taylor, Rexburg, Idaho, Reed Taylor, Valleyo, Calif., Jean Young, Bellvue, Wash., Barbara Kaplan, Walnut Creek, Calif. His sisters Carma McMullin, Roma Branigan; and his brother LaVell Taylor preceded him in death. Dale is also survived 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren The family would like to send a special thank you to the staff at Logan House for their kindness and endless hours of service on behalf of our Dad. Nelson, 83, longtime resident of McCammon, passed away peacefully Thursday evening, April 3, 2008, at his home surrounded by his loving family following a lingering illness. He was born June 8, 1924, in Treasureton, Idaho, a son of Frank and Cara Dell Barnes. He attended school in Treasureton. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was involved in the D-Day Normandy invasion in France. On October 24, 1946, he married Juantele Atkinson in Franklin, Idaho. They lived in Pocatello for nine years, and Alton worked at the Union Pacific Railroad for a short time and then for J.R. Simplot Company. He then went to work for FMC where he worked for 30 years retiring as a foreman. They moved to McCammon in 1955. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, camping and horses. He especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a member of the L.D.S. Church. Survivors include: His wife, Juantele Nelson, McCammon, 5 sons, Tim (Mary) Nelson, Pocatello; Robert(Molly) Nelson, McCammon; Danny (Shelley) Nelson, McCammon; Hal Dean (Patricia) Nelson, Blackfoot, Idaho; Brooks (Debbi) Nelson, Arimo, Idaho; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was born on January 29, 1910, to Thomas John and Harriet Bodily Hall. She was the second of 10 children born to this family. She attended school in Fairview, Idaho, and graduated from Preston High School. She married Wesley "Pete" Hyde on December 3, 1930, in the Logan Temple. They resided in Fairview all of their lives except for the past little while that she has resided at the Heritage Home in Preston. She has always been active in the Fairview Ward of her church and served faithfully in many callings. She worked in the extraction for over 10 years. Crocheting, knitting, quilting, and gardening were just a few of her many interests and talents. All of her children, "grands" and "great-grands" have received some of her artistic creations that have taken her countless hours to do. She was an avid sports fan. She especially followed Preston High, USU Aggies, and the Utah Jazz sporting events. She was a charter member of the Sara Mar Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, and served in many calling in it, and assisted in the writing of the history of Fairview, Idaho. She looked forward to their yearly summer vacations with our family and her sister, Mardene. She often accompanied Dad to the rivers and lakes while he fished where she would crochet or read. She is survived by four children, Jolene (Norm) Corbridge, of Provo, Utah, Jon (Linda) Hyde, Preston, Idaho, Sid (LaNae) Hyde of Smithfield, Utah, Brian (Kathy) Hyde, Preston, Idaho; 11 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson; sisters, Verna Knudsen, Mardene Hall; brothers, Herm Hall and Grant Hall. She was preceded in death by her husband on January 8, 1972, as well as by her sister, Dorothy Gilbert, brothers Byron, Hershel, "Joe", Dallas, and Dennis Hall, and her first grandson, Alan Lee Corbridge. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 8, 2008, at noon in the Fairview First Ward, with Bishop Howard D. Nelson conducting. She was born on Sept. 23, 1917, in Glendale, Idaho, to Ray and Benta Hansen Wheeler. She lived in Glendale all through her youth and throughout her schooling. After high school, her family moved to Logan, Utah, where her father became a baker. Later she met and married Jim Murry Mortenson. He passed away in 1955 from cancer. Virginia later married William (Bill) McGee Harris from Preston, and they joined their two families. With this large family there was always lots of fun. She loved hunting, fishing and camping with all of them. She also spent 30 years as a mail carrier between Preston to Thatcher. Being the only woman in the family, she also loved her flower gardens. She is survived by her three sons, Jerry M. (Cona) Mortenson, Pocatello, Idaho, Jim D. (DeeAnn) Mortenson, Glenrock, Wyo., and Terry R. (Janna) Mortenson, Soda Springs, Idaho; step-children, Glen (Joyce) Harris, Bancroft, Idaho, Evan (Radene) Harris, Preston, Idaho, Van (Gala) Harris, Casper, Wyo.; two brothers, Don (Carol) Wheeler, Fruitland, Idaho, and Van (Marie) Wheeler, Logan, Utah. She was born July 19, 1927, in Preston, Idaho, the daughter of Jedediah M. and Anna Rosella Forsgren Palmer. She married Glade Lynn Burgon July 29, 1949, in the Logan, Utah, Temple. Laura received a business administration degree from BYU and was a real estate agent for 18 years. She also owned and operated a kitchen accessories store in Logan. She was a volunteer in her community and served in her local PTA. Laura was a valiant member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she held various ward and stake music, leadership and teaching positions. She was a worker in the Bountiful and Logan temples. Laura enjoyed gardening, music, children, water fights and her warm associations with everyone she met. Her greatest love was her family. She is survived by her husband Glade; sons Barre (Karen) Burgon, Tim Burgon, Sandy (Sherrie) Burgon, David (Shawna) Burgon; daughters Lauri (Hayden) Felt and Pamela (Matt) Peterson; 23 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was the only child of Earl and Mary Wilkinson Perkins. She was raised and educated in Salt Lake City, until she went on vacation to Robin, Idaho. There she met her sweetheart Dail Albiston. They were married August 1, 1939, and later sealed in the Logan LDS Temple on Nov. 29, 1967. They were faithful companions, until the passing of Dail in 1975. Violet had a passion for reading, history, crocheting, crossword puzzles, and most of all, the love and association with her family. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, in which she served in various callings through the years. She served as a temple worker from 1998-2000, a calling which she dearly loved. She is survived by her son, Gail Brent (Kathleen) Albiston of Preston; a daughter, Loma Marley of Preston; 7 grandchildren, 13 greatgrandchildren and 2 greatgreat-grandchildren. Willi was born in Park Rapids, Minn., in 1936. Throughout her life she also resided in Preston, Minnesota, Northern Minnesota, Wyoming and California. She treasured her time traveling, fishing, BINGO, playing cards, and spending time with all of her children and grandchildren. She loved family, friends and quiet times with her husband and their two dogs. She was an avid angel collector, which was a reflection of her spirituality. Willi was loved by all who knew her and will be truly missed by her husband, Eddie Parise, her seven children; Debbie (John) Ewald of Great Falls, Mont.; Diane Robidou of Great Falls, Mont.; Shelly (Cliff) Suek of Dutton, Mont.; Thomas L. Hagan III (Carla); St Charles. Minn.; Julie Hagan (Mike) Charlebois of Lanesboro, Minn.; Mary (John) Sweers of Soda Springs, Idaho; and Katy (Bruce Poitra) Anderson of Great Falls, Mont.; 18 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and her friends. She is fondly remembered for her strong spirit and determination, her quick wit, sense of humor, unconditional love and kindness. He was born Dec. 3, 1921, in Clarkston, Utah, to Jesse William Griffiths and Bertha Loretta Olsen. He attended grade school through high school in Weston, Idaho. He obtained his mechanical engineering degree from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. He honorably served his country in the Army Air Force during WW II. Jesse worked as an engineer for GE, for INEL on a submarine project, and also a farm project in Idaho. He has lived in Schenectady, N.Y., Richland, Wash., Moreland, Idaho, and Logan, Utah. He married Norma Weight in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on Sept. 15, 1947. They were blessed with six children. He was active in the Rotary Club and served on the Library Board. Jesse enjoyed reading, writing, music and learning. He was also artistic and an inventor. But most of all, he loved spending time enjoying his family. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings, including Elders Quorum president, branch president, High Priest instructor and home teacher. He and his wife, Norma, served a mission in the Kentucky Louisville Mission. Jesse is survived by his wife, Norma; his children: Kristi (Gaylon) Heiner, Bedford, Wyo., Gareth (Joanne) Griffiths, Preston, Idaho, Mark (Gay) Griffiths, Cascade, Mont., Lee (Lisa) Griffiths, Hyde Park, Utah, Laura (Charles) Zisette, Radford, Va., Paul (Missy) Griffiths, Madison, Ala.; 40 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Loretta Taylor, Rhea Godfrey and Bonnie Erickson; and brothers, Reed and Michael Griffiths. Theo was born on Dec. 4, 1941, in Dayton, Idaho, to Theodore and Myrtle Murdock. He graduated from West Side High School in 1960. On April 15, 1965, he married Suelyn Packer in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple. He graduated from Utah State Univ. in 1965 with a degree in Sociology and began a life long career with the State of Idaho-Department of Health and Welfare. Theo started as a case worker in Idaho Falls. Over the next 36 years, he worked in Pocatello, Burley, Twin Falls and finally Boise, holding a number of positions including Region IV Director, Director of Welfare, and Medicaid Specialist. He retired in 2001. He spent many hours drafting legislation and working with the state legislature on several important issues. He was well liked by all who knew him and was known as a fair and honest employer with sound judgment. He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Chri! st of Latter Day Saints and served in several leadership positions, including six and a half years as the Branch President at the Idaho State Prison. At the time of his illness, he served as Director of the Family History Unit. He enjoyed his time with those men. Beginning in 2003, he and Suelyn served a two year mission to the Arizona Phoenix Mission where they served in Cameron, Ariz. and the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. Theo loved the Navajo and Hopi Indians and fondly spoke about his time with them. Theo took joy in family, friends, work and service. He enjoyed gardening, dutch-oven cooking, reloading and traveling. Theo had a very caring positive attitude and always looked for the good in everyone. Theo was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend and will be greatly missed. He is survived by Suelyn, his wife of 43 years; daughter and son-in-law, Shellie and Charles Martin (Boise); son and daughter-in-law, Ted and Darcie Murdock (Meridian); son and daughte! r-in-law, Greg and Rachel Murdock (Kuna/Jal, N.M); daughter and son-in -law, Mindie and Doug Whitten (Pittsburg, Kan.); his sister and brother-in-law, Norma and Lyman Merrill (Preston, Idaho); 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers (Suel and Roland Murdock).
