    2. The Idaho State Journal 08-05-01 OXFORD — Wiley Glen Jensen, 73, passed away Friday, Aug. 3, 2001, at his home in Oxford, Franklin, Idaho. He was born Aug. 15, 1927, to Wiley and Viona Woolsey Jensen. At an early age, he learned the value of honest, hard work. This was evident throughout his life. He married his sweetheart, Loyce Faye Allen, on Dec. 3, 1950, in Rolla, Missouri. Their marriage was later sealed in the Logan LDS Temple. They had one son and one daughter who were their pride and joy. He served his country during the Korean War. He worked for Southern Union Gas Co. in New Mexico, later moving to Utah and Idaho to fulfill his dream on farming and ranching. He devoted his life to taking care of his loving wife and caring for her every need. They were inseparable until her death in 1998. He loved to work in his vegetable garden and shared the bounty of his gardening with neighbors, family and friends. He loved fishing, hunting, and his dogs. His grandchildren were the highlight of his life. He is survived by a daughter, Susan Cole, Logan, Utah; grandchildren, Jacob, Jody Lynn, Aaron, Lindsey, Angie, Ashley and Arlie; four great grandchildren; and by a brother, Frank Jensen, Phoenix, Arizona. He was preceded in death by his wife, Loyce; by a son, Wiley E. Jensen; and by a sister, Marguerite Jensen Saline. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2001, in the Clifton Second Ward Chapel with Bishop Neil Fuller conducting. Friends may call Tuesday from noon until 12:45 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Oxford Idaho Cemetery. Arrangements are by Webb Funeral Home.

    2. The Idaho State Journal 08-05-01 WESTON — Paul Verlan Corbridge, 48, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2001, in Clifton, Franklin, Idaho. He was born Sept. 30, 1952, in Salina, Utah, the son of Verlan W. and Rena Curtis Corbridge. He married Shauna Wrigley on April 20, 1978, in the Idaho Falls Temple. He enjoyed camping with his family, trucking, four-wheeler rides, and waxing his "orange juice" truck. He was involved with scouting and was a Sunday School teacher. He is survived by his wife, Shauna; three daughters, Wendi (Brian) Taylor, Lisa Corbridge and Becki Corbridge, and a son, Shawn Corbridge, all of Weston; his mother, Rena Corbridge, Preston; and by two brothers, Curtis (LaPreale) Corbridge, El Dorado Hills, California, and Thayne (Colleen) Corbridge, Movee, Washington. He was preceded in death by his father, Verlan W. Corbridge. Funeral services will be held at noon on Monday, Aug. 6, 2001, in the Weston Second Ward Chapel with Counselor Ariel Nash conducting. Friends may call today (Aug. 5) from 6 to 8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home and Monday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Weston Idaho Cemetery.

    2. The Idaho State Journal 08-03-2001 WESTON — E. Keith Buttars, 71, passed away Wednesday, August 1, 2001, while doing what he loved, working on his farm. He was born August 18, 1929, in Clarkston, Utah, to Earl Samuel Buttars and Gladys Williams. He married Georgia Lannan in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple July 12, 1949. He is survived by his wife, Georgia, one daughter, Vicki Stevenson (Glen), sons, Kurtis (JaNeil), all of Weston, Idaho, Mark (Lisa), West Jordan, Utah, Steve (Lynette), Weston, Idaho, Ryan (Janis), Clifton, Idaho; one sister, Bonnie Reeder, Hyde Park, Utah; 19 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Blaine and Sammy, and one sister, Shirley. Keith his life farming in Weston, Idaho. He served his community 16 years on the town council, Farmers Grain board of directors in Weston and Ogden, Utah, of which he also served as vice president; he was also on the Twin Lakes Canal board. He was a faithful member of the LDS Church, and served as Scoutmaster, elder's quorum secretary and ward clerk, home teacher and YM presidency. He was a great husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. At the time of his death he was a high priest in the Weston First Ward. Keith was a hard-working farmer who was respected and loved by his family and friends. He loved to spend his time away from the farm camping, fishing, short getaways to his cabin in Wyoming and wintering in Salome, Arizona. Keith will be missed by his family. He was a great teacher and educator in the ways of life. He taught them all they know. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 4, 2001, at the Weston LDS Chapel, Weston, Idaho, with Bishop Glade Schvaneveldt conducting. Friends and family may call tonight, Friday, Aug. 3 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 109 E. Oneida, Preston, Idaho, and at 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. prior to services. The Loagn Herald Journal 07-30-2001 Gloria "Sandy" Spackman Dockstader, 66, returned to our Heavenly Father on July 29, 2001, after a courageous battle with diabetes and its many complications. Her last days were spent surrounded by her family whom she loved more than life itself. Gloria was born on May, 29, 1935, the third of seven children born to Edwin "Ted" and Elna Harris Spackman. She lived all of her life in Preston, Idaho. She worked at the Snooty Cat, Stan's Market, Maverick Country Store (Ransom's), in the family business, and was forced to retire early from Presto Products due to problems with her health. She was active in the LDS church and held various positions in the Primary, Relief Society, scouting and Young Women's organizations. She loved spending time with her family and had a special bond with each of her grandchildren. She loved to draw and crochet and enjoyed golf, genealogy, and being outdoors. She is survived by her husband, Dee (Preston), five children: Rick (Maxine) Dockstader, P reston, Teresa (Alan) Conlin, San Jose, Calif., Rochelle (Dell) Simper, Logan, Kim Dockstader, Preston, and Mindy (Brad) Daley, Preston; mother, Elna Spackman, Preston; one brother, Gylde (Ann) Spackman, Clinton, Utah; four sisters, BarDee (Ross) Hall, Preston, LaRae (Dee) Shrives, Preston, Marie (Mike) Hudson, Plymouth, Utah, and Wendy (Doug) West, Preston; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Ted Spackman, and brother Craig Spackman. The family extends a special thanks to the staff at the Dialysis Center at the Logan Regional Hospital and those who served the family through IHC Hospice of Cache Valley services for their wonderful care and concern during difficult times. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2001, in the Preston 8th Ward Chapel, 213 S. 200 East, with Bishop Jon Hyde conducting.     2. The Logan Herald Journal 07-21-2001 Minnie Viola Cutler Larson, 96, of Preston, Franklin, Idaho, died July 18, 201, in Pocatello, Idaho. Minnie Larson was born in Preston, Idaho, on Nov. 12, 1904, to Allen Riley and Lucy May Hardy Cutler. She attended schools in Preston, graduating from the Oneida Academy. She later attended nurse's training at the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City. Her nursing career spanned over 40 years as she worked with her brothers, Drs. Allen R. and Orvid Cutler at the Preston Hospital, now the Franklin County Medical Center. She assisted in the birth of many Franklin County children while assisting her brothers on house calls. She also served as school nurse later in her career with the West Side School District before retiring in 1969. She will be remembered by staff and alumni alike. Minnie married Harold Larson in 1926 in the Salt Lake Temple. He preceded her in death in 1992. Both Harold and Minnie Larson were life-long members of the LDS Church. Minnie held many church callings. including service with Harold while he was bishop. Minnie was noted for her beautiful handwork, which included cross stitch, quilting, needlepoint and latch hooking. She was a wonderful cook, an avid reader and was well loved by all who knew her. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, a local literary club and traveled with Harold as he played in a harmonica band. She has lived with her daughter in Pocatello for the past two years. She is survived by her son, Harold E. (Gene) Larson of Upland, Calif., daughter-in-law, Dr. Patricia Lin Larson, and daughter Lucy Carroll, and son-inn-law, Dr. Richard Meek of Pocatello, Idaho. Also surviving are sister Ruth Hart, nine grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and brothers, Allen, Karl, Charles, Elvin, Orvid, Morton, Milton, Leo, Preston and Royal. Also by her sisters, Lucy, Euretta, Ercil and Mary. Funeral services will be held at noon, Monday at 10th Ward Chapel: 155 N. 200 West St., in Preston. Bishop Gilbert Parker will be officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, at Webb Funeral Home at 109 E. Oneida St., Preston, Idaho, and one hour prior to the service at the church. He was born Jan. 16, 1944, in Southport, Australia, the son of Everett and Norma Bower Ratcliff. He married Diane Griffin on Sept. 28, 1985, in Logan, Utah. He played professional baseball in his youth for the Washington Senators. He served his country during the Korean War as a helicopter mechanic and also during the Vietnam Era. He loved to fish and build engines. He is survived by his wife, Diane, of Preston; and by a daughter, Hailey Ratcliff, also of Preston. He was preceded in death by his parents and by a brother, Everett Ratcliff, Jr. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, at Webb Funeral Home, 109 E. She was born January 8, 1935, in Logan, Utah, the 10th of 11 children to Arnold and Hermanie Johnson Kraus. She married Boris LaGrand Spatig on June 3, 1954, in Logan, Utah. The marriage was later solemnized in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple. He died March 5, 1978. She then married Wayne C. Swainston on Dec. 6, 1985, in Elko, Nevada. She was a member of the Whitney, Idaho Second LDS Ward. She served as a spiritual living teacher, Primary teacher, cooking director, and Cub Scout leader. She loved cooking, gardening, quilting and decorating her home. She often shared her roses, baked goods and quilts with family, friends, and neighbors. She took great pride in the rose bushes and miniature roses in her yard. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Wayne C. Swainston, Preston, Idaho; her children, Janet (Richard) Hogsett, Moses Lake, Washington, Donald L. (Shari) Spatig, North Ogden, Utah, Jeffrey (Sheri) Spatig, North Logan, Utah, Laura (Tim) Thorpe, Garland, Utah, Andy Spatig, Ogden, Utah, Jennifer Spatig, Kaysville, Utah; six grandchildren; two brothers and two sisters. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Boris LaGrand Spatig, by her parents, and by three brothers and two sisters.     2. Donna Rae Atwood Wilde, 71, longtime resident of McCammon, Idaho, passed away peacefully Monday evening, June 25, 2001, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 17, 1929, in Preston, Franklin, Idaho, a daughter of Ernest Ray and Mada Hampton Atwood. She attended various elementary schools in the Preston area, and graduated from Preston High School. On August 4, 1948, she married Reo De Wilde in Idaho Falls, Idaho. They made their home in Pocatello for many years, and moved to McCammon in 1965, where they purchased a small farm and raised livestock. Her husband, Reo, passed away September 13, 2000. Donna was a great seamstress and enjoyed needlework and gardening. She was also a great quilt maker, and made many quilts for family members and friends. Her greatest joy was her family and grandchildren. She was truly a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She was a member of the LDS Church, and had served as ward organist, Scout leader, and participated in Relief Society. Survivors include her mother, Mada E. Eline, Pocatello; two sons, Lawrence Dee (Leta) Wilde, Pocatello, Richard (Vicki) Wilde, McCammon, Idaho; two daughters, Brenda Lee Miller, Yuma, Arizona, Sharon (Ivan) Bloxham, Chubbuck, Idaho; a sister, Judy (Lee) Morrow, Klamath Falls, Oregon; 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, husband, a son, a grandson and brother. During his life, he lived in Richfield, Utah, Mesa, Ariz., Las Vegas, Nev., Cedar City, Utah, Anaheim Hills, Calif., Wytheville, Va., Thatcher, Idaho and Logan, Utah. He developed many friendships everywhere he went. He was loved and respected by all. He loved Aikido and had earned his blue belt with a black stripe. He was interested in learning new things. He liked to work on cars. He was a talented artist, and he enjoyed participating in sports including billiards, tennis, weight training, cycling, and basketball. In May of 2001, he received his associate's degree from Utah State University in engineering. He was planning to continue his education at USU. He was currently employed at Wal-Mart in Logan, Utah. He was born March 6, 1919, at Thatcher, Franklin, Idaho, the son of Ira Harris and Harriet Permielia Williams Hogan. He was raised and educated in the Thatcher and Grace area, graduating from Thatcher High School where he won many awards as a star basketball player. He married Berneice Lloyd, Aug. 18, 1943, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Lorin was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had served in various callings: stake and ward young men's president, served on the Bannock Stake High Council, and as bishop of the Thatcher Ward. He had served a mission to the Kentucky-Tennessee area. He owned and operated a cattle ranch in the Thatcher area, and managed the Gentile Valley Land and Cattle Company for several years. He also served on the Eastern Idaho Grazing Association Board. He also owned and operated the Grace Greenhouse. His hobbies included sports, especially basketball, horses and cattle and flowers. He is survived by his wife, Berneice, and two daughters and their spouses: Diane and Michael Weaver, Orem, Utah, and Jan and Craig Olson, Smithfield, Utah; also four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and a sister, Barbara Olsen, Grace, Idaho. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Vard Hogan, Donald Hogan, Ray Hogan and Roland Hogan. Lorin was a kind and loving husband, having cared for his wife for 43 years after her tragic accident. His family was the most important thing in the world to him. He would always ask if they needed anything. His happiness was in giving to them and he looked forward to the times when they were all together. He was born May 6, 1918, in Preston, Franklin, Idaho, the son of Ivan Comish Larsen and Leona Julia Ellis Larsen Goodwin. He graduated from Castleford High School in 1937. Then attended Idaho State University, majoring in pharmacy. He then enlisted in the Coast Guard during World War II serving as a doctor's assistant, and became a Pharmacist Mate First Class, where he met his first wife, Maud (Penny) Brown of Logan, Utah. They married in 1943 and the marriage was later solemnized in the Logan, Utah Temple. After the war he farmed in Castleford, Idaho, for one year, then went back to college at Utah State Agricultural College where he earned his bachelor's degree in agronomy. He used his degree working for the Soil Conservation Service in Nevada. He retired from SCS after 30 years and later worked in Water Resources and as a soil consultant in various places. His wife of 46 years died in 1988. He then married Thelma Taylor Bernardi of Filer, Idaho, in 1990 where they resided until his death. He enjoyed his family and friends, listening to music, an avid reader (donating numerous books to the Filer Library), and his greatest love was working in many positions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Leland enjoyed serving with his wife as an ordinance worker in the Boise Temple for six years. Survivors include his wife, Thelma Larsen; his children, Carl Ivan Larsen of Montana, Craig Murray (Cindy) Larsen of Utah, Chad Brian (Louise) Larsen of Utah, Terri Leona (James) Freeman of Washington; one adopted son, Gelson Larsen of Utah; two stepdaughters, Penny Rae (Larry) Walden of Twin Falls, Becky (Dan) Carter of Filer; two brothers, Nathan Ellis (Arlene) Larsen of Utah, Von J. (Jan) Goodwin of Utah; two sisters, Dona Vandaveer of Utah, Della (Dale) Ghan of Twin Falls; one son-in-law Paul Crowther of Utah; 21 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1st wife and daughter, Wanda Lee Crowther, and infant brother, Clifford Frank Goodwin. Funeral services for Leland Larsen will be conducted 10 a.m., Tuesday at the Filer Stake Center, with Bishop Ray Moore, conducting. Interment will take place at 3:30 p.m. in the Logan Cemetery, Logan, Utah. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. at White Mortuary, Monday and from 9 to 9:45 a.m. at the church on Tuesday.

He married Roma Bennett in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple on Sept. 8, 1948. He resided in Soda Springs for the past 49 years. He retired from Monsanto in June of 1988 after 34 years and was part of the initial construction of the plant. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Gerald was a member of the LDS Soda Springs Third Ward. He is survived by his wife, Roma of Soda Springs; two sons and one daughter, Lynn B. and Linda Merrill, Swan Valley, Idaho; Susan and Kim Welch, Grace; Steven and Debbie Merrill, Pendleton, Oregon. He has 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Also surviving are two brothers, Frank T. Merrill and Samuel M. Merrill, both of Ogden, Utah; two sisters, Noreene Nye of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Anne Whalen of San Jose, Calif. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, May 31, at noon at the Soda Springs First and Fifth Ward Building, located at 3rd East and 3rd South. He will be greatly missed and always remembered as a totally loving and devoted husband, father, friend and neighbor. He devoted his life to his family and to the gospel of Jesus Christ. Seth was born March 11, 1925, at Preston, to John Clifford Forsgren and Mary Oneta Fuhriman Forsgren. He served in the military during WWII from 1944-47. He graduated from Utah State University and received a master’s degree from the College of Idaho. On March 31, 1948, he married Marco Keller in the Salt Lake L.D.S. Temple. Seth taught and counseled high school students in Ashton, Nampa, Wilder and Vallivue. He loved teaching the students, and after 30 years retired in 1987. I show a Walter Harris born in 1877 or 1876 to William and Eliza. William was a carpenter. Walter also had a brother two years older named William. They were gone from Oxford by 1900. Oxford was in Oneida County then; it is in Franklin County now.

He was born March 23, 1903, in Hyde Park, Utah, to Henry Hurren Seamons and Marie Ann Bennett. He was the second of eleven children. He married Elsie Lucille Jepsen of Mink Creek on Dec. 22, 1927, in the Logan LDS Temple and had four children, Virginia, Delbert J., Blair and Scott. He loved his horses, using teams of them to work his farm long after tractors became popular. He would take his grandchildren on rides in his horse-drawn sleigh too Delbert farmed for almost a century, having left home as a teenager to work farms in Utah until he bought his own on Capitol Hill. He always had a dog who was his constant companion. A hard worker, who taught his children to work hard as well, he was bucking bales of hay well into his 80s. Delbert was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his sisters, Verda Balis and Wanda Rich; his brothers, Melvin, Orson, Howard and Homer; and two grandchildren, Bruce Jensen and Leanne Seamons; and one great-grandchild, Tessa Jo Stanger. He is survived by his children, Virginia (Don) Hansen of Smithfield, Utah; Delbert J. (Twila) Seamons of Pocatello, Blair J. (Janet) Seamons of Preston and M. Scott (Catherine) Seamons of Mink Creek; 19 grandchildren; 65 great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild; his sisters, Bonnie Allen, Naoma Fackrell and Rhoda McDermade; and a brother, Weldon Seamons.
