There may have been cheering. She was born in Murray, Utah, on Nov. 22, 1900, to Charles Robert and Louise Park Brockbank Reynolds, the middle of nine children. She loved to serve, and do for others — preferring to work behind the scenes. she was a peacemaker. She was very active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all her life and taught Primary for many years. She delighted in giving special love to babies born into this world. Hazel was a faithful visiting teacher for 75 years — we don’t think she missed one month. She insisted on kneeling to pray. Sharing a heart-felt tear was as loved by her as was joining in with her spontaneous, hands-in-the-air laugh when she gave the story of “Rindercella.” People loved to be around her. She was young at heart her whole life which was truly a blessing fulfilled. She married Wilford (Bill) Pierson on June 8, 1921, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They served together as Salt Lake Temple ordinance workers for 11 years before he died in 1975.
