She was born August 29, 1931 in Preston, Idaho to Aram Poulson and Lucy May Allen. LaRue was raised in Swan Lake, Idaho on her father"s ranch. She graduated from Utah State University with a teaching degree. She taught school in Clearfield, and Bingham Canyon. LaRue married Thomas Alfred Lemmon in the Logan Temple on May 24, 1957. She served a LDS mission to the Central States Mission. Her greatest life calling came in the rearing of her children. She gave up her teaching career to become a full time mom, and she never looked back. Mom was a great teacher, she never spoke an unkind word in her life, she taught her children by example. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She loved to knit, and gave away many afghans, hot pads, and baby blankets. She has been reunited with her loving husband, a son, Colin and daughter, Edna Louise. She will greatly miss her grandchildren. Surviving are James Allen Lemmon, Thomas Kelly (Connie) Lemmon, Edward (Marlene) Lemmon, Vera (Lance) Schiffman, Lucy (Chris) Casey; nine grandchildren, Brandi, Bobbi, Jake, Zachary, Courtney, Sarah, Marshall, Victoria, and Brenna; one sister, Rhea (Hank) Shea and her mother-in-law, Edna Lemmon. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 22, 2002 at 11 a.m. at the Clearfield 10th Ward, 275 No. 200 W. Friends and family may call Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist"s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Monday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment, Weston, Idaho.

He was born June 9, 1911, in Whitney, Idaho to Abraham and Cecilia Marie Hansen Winward. He married Maurine Yarbrough on June 22, 1937 in the Logan L. D.S. Temple. They enjoyed 65 years together. Morris graduated from Preston High School attended B.Y.U. and received his B.A. Degree. He received his Masters and Doctor of Education from the University of Southern California. He worked as Assistant Superintendent of several large school districts, the last one being San Mateo Union High School District in California. He was president of the Rotary Club in San Mateo, and Trustee of the C.A. Buck Foundation, a scholarship organization. Morris loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, camping and hunting. He was an avid golfer, playing regularly, until his stroke two years ago. He loved gardening, cultivating orchids, roses, camelias and fruit and vegetables of all varieties. He cherished the time spent with his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served a mission to the Netherlands, held numerous executive positions in Priesthood Quorums, Sunday School, MIA, and High Councils. He also served as Bishop in San Mateo, California, Branch President in Alta, California, and Sunday School Teacher and Home Teacher. Morris is survived by his wife, Maurine, one son and two daughters; Carol (Phil) Dorr, Orem, Utah; Lawrence (Evelyn) Winward, Mesa, Arizona; Nancy (Jon) Young, Gillette, Wyoming; 18 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother and three sisters; Grace Anderson, Idaho Falls, Idaho; Ida Roberts, Nampa, Idaho; Cecilia Marie Jenson, Reno, Nevada and Leon H. Winward, Billings, Montana. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Wilbur Whitney, Glenn Hansen and Abraham Russel, one sister, Harriet and a grandson, Peter Lawrence Winward. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 22, 2002, at 10 a.m. in the Suncrest 9th Ward, 130 N. 400 West, Orem, Utah under the direction of the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home of Orem, Utah. Friends may call at the church from 9-9:45 a.m. prior to service. Burial will be in the Whitney Cemetery, Whitney, Idaho.

Keith worked all his life in auto repair. Many of those years he worked for Stocks Lincoln-Mercury in Ogden. He eventually opened his own auto repair business, Keith Egbert & Sons, in Clearfield. He retired and sold the business in 1985. His hobbies included hunting and fishing with family and friends, watching sports, and taking quick trips to Wendover. Surviving are his wife, Margaret of Sunset; his children and their spouses, Dan and Sandee Egbert, Washington Terrace; Sandra and Jerry Jackson, Richland, Wash.; David Egbert, Sunset; Kathi and Glen Peterson, Plain City; Mike Egbert, Sunset; 17 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. Keith was preceded in death by 12 brothers and sisters. She was born on Sept. 13, 1923, to Jesse William Griffiths and Bertha Loretta Olsen in Clarkston, Utah, and was the third of eight children. At the age of five her family moved to a farm near Weston, Idaho. In her later years she spoke fondly of her upbringing in spite of the fact that they had no running water or electricity during the early years on the farm. She did very well in school, participating in school activities and graduating second in her class from Weston High School. After graduation, she enrolled at the LDS Business College in Salt Lake City. Following the outbreak of World War II, there was a great demand for office workers at army camps and defense installations, so she left the Business College to work for the Army Air Forces as a secretary, first in Kearns, Utah, and then in Oakland, California. She married Byron Stratford Loosle on July 1, 1947, in the Logan LDS Temple. They lived almost all of their married life in Smithfield where they raised five children: Judy Ann (Dee) Hicken, Salt Lake City; Susan (Jeff) Gyllenskog, Sandy; Jan (Mark) Simmons, Providence; Lyndon (Annette), Smithfield; and Steven (Linda), Salt Lake City. Twenty-four grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren also survive her. Kathleen was an excellent seamstress. She loved reading, gardening, handiwork, jigsaw and crossword puzzles, long walks and her family. The care and well being of her family has always been her top priority. She possessed an extraordinary capacity for work and was constantly engaged in service to her church, community and family. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout her life and faithfully served in many different callings and positions. She appreciated the many good friends that she gained through her church activity. She is survived by three brothers and three sisters: Jesse Jr. (Norma), Logan; Loretta (Leon) Taylor, Mesa, Arizona; Reed (Faye), Weston, Idaho; Rhea (Murray) Godfrey, Soda Springs, Idaho; Michael (Diane), North Ogden; Bonnie (Gaylord) Erickson, Boise, Idaho. Her parents and her sister and brother-in-law, Elayne and Harvey Dewey, preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 17, 2002, at noon at the Smithfield 1st Ward, 175 S. 100 West, Smithfield. She was 91. Marie was born on March 7, 1911, in Bancroft, Idaho, to Nephi L. and Mae Taylor Larsen. She grew up and graduated from high school in Preston. She married Odis John (Joe) Talbot on June 11, 1930, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Joe and Marie lived and worked most of their married lives in Lewiston. They farmed for nearly 50 years and later owned and operated a drive-in in Logan and the local grocery store in Lewiston. Marie was a dedicated member of the LDS church and served in many leadership roles including stake and ward Young Women's presidencies. Marie and Joe served for many years as the stake dance directors and officiators in the Logan Temple. Joe died Dec. 19, 1994, just six months shy of their 65th wedding anniversary. She married her lifelong friend, George ! Williams of Lewiston on Jan. 31, 1998. Marie is survived by her second husband, George Williams of Lewiston; two sons, Meldon Talbot (Shanna) of Longmont, Colo. and Kelly Talbot (Cheryl) of Pocatello, Idaho; two daughters, Sharon Lee Richardson (Dennis) of Lead, S.D. and Terri Misener (Steve) of Providence, Utah; five brothers, Mervin, Seth, Arlo and Keith, all of St. George and Dean of Fresno, Calif. and her sister, Alta Zufelt of Logan. Marie was dearly loved and will be terribly missed by her children, 19 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and her great-great-grandtriplets. It is a joyous day as Marie is reunited with her beloved husband, Joe Talbot; son, Layle O. Talbot and her grandson, Craig Layle Talbot. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 16, 2002, at noon in the Lewiston First and Fourth Ward Chapel, 16 S. Main St. A viewing will be held on Monday night from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Allen-Hall Mortuary and one hour prior to services on Tuesday. Shirley and Reid traveled extensively during their marriage, settling in Tucson in 1978. She was a real estate broker and Multi-Million Dollar producer in the Tucson area for 18 years, and with Reid, she established R2 Properties, Inc. Widowed in 1996, Shirley married Paul Wixom, Salt Lake City, UT July 6, 2001. An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints she held several positions including Relief Society president, Primary president, Young Women's president, and Stake Music Director. Music was an important part of her life. As an accomplished pianist, musician, and teacher, she shared her talents with her church and community, various choirs, colleagues and students for 40 years. She was a member of the Tucson Music Teachers Association and served as the treasurer of that organization. Shirley's passion was teaching piano which continued until just prior to her death. P! ainting, gardening, sewing, cooking and landscaping were also hobbies and interests she enjoyed. Survivors include her husband, Paul; mother, Blanche Bailey, West Valley, UT; brothers, Conley, Floyd, Gerald, Ken, Gordon Bailey; sisters, LaDeane Jonsson, Daryle Warby, Gloria Richards, Marsha Bawden, Shauna Wilson-Bailey; four children, Suzanne Richards, Bethel, AK, Lt Col. Helen worked at Intermountain Farmers for 37 years, starting as an egg candler alongside her mother and eventually becoming the office manager/bookkeeper. Her hobbies included handwork and cooking. She was famous for her cinnamon rolls and pies. She was an avid reader and loved to travel. She will be remembered for her quick wit and good sense of humor. She always took a great interest in her nieces and nephew’s children and they all loved her dearly. Before taking residency at the nursing home, she was a member of the 15th Ward where she worked in the library. She is survived by five nieces and nephews, Gary (Helen) Lindquist of Palm Coast, Fla., Nancy (Gerald) Summers of Syracuse, Utah, Lewis F. (Helen) Fuhriman of Boise, Idaho, Diane (Larry) Perkes of Hyde Park and Linda (Fred) Lee of Pleasanton, Calif. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Lewis and Mark and by a sister, Adria Lindquist. The family wishes to express thanks and appreciation to the staff at Logan Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the excellent care, friendship and love shown to Helen. She was born April 26, 1920, in Logan, Utah, the daughter of William Potter and Mary Ann Raymond Bowen. She graduated from Logan High School, the Collegiate College of Beauty, and she also attended Utah State Agricultural College. She enjoyed being a cosmetologist for more than 55 years. She married Quinten Edwin Crockett on August 30, 1941, in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. He preceded her in death on September 24, 2001. She gave a lifetime of love and service to her family, friends, church and community. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in any capacity to which she was called. She especially enjoyed teaching the Trekker boys and fulfilling a Manila, Philippines mission with her husband from 1988 to 1990. She was a devoted member of the Syringa Camp of the DUP, as well as a charter member of the Nifty Needles Sewing Club. She served with and supported her husband, Quin, as an international director of Lions Club International from 1985 to 1987. She was also a charter member of the Pocatello Scholarship Lions Club and a Melvin Jones Fellow recipient. The greatest love of her life was her family, who express their great love and appreciation to her for a lifetime of love and sacrifice for them. Dorothy is survived by three sons, Quinten Edward (Nancy) Jr., Boise, Keith B. (Flora), Everett, Wash., Philip B. (Celeste), Provo, Utah; four daughters, Merilee Crockett, Downey, Gail (Nate) Inglet, Idaho Falls, Jody Crockett, Preston, and Helen (Steve) Jensen, Burley; 21 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Jonathan R. (Jack) Bowen, Logan, Utah. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Gene, and sisters Helen DeWitt, Mayma Gardner, Kathryn Bullen and a brother, William C. Bowen. She lived in Cub River since Aug. 6, 1993, when she married LaVon Bowman. She was a valiant caretaker to her husband until the very end. She was an avid reader and she loved books. She will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, aunt, and a very special Granny P. and Grandma Lyle. She loved to meet people and was such a people person. She is preceded in death by her parents, by a brother, Cecil H. Wilding, a sister, Evelyn Bowman, her first husband, Earl W. Hansen, and her second husband, Stanley S. Pitchford. She is survived by her husband, LaVon; by two daughters, Janet (Dennis) LeFevre and Suzan (Breck) Denham; grandchildren, Dana & Matt LeFevre, Britt & Tristin Denham, a great grandchild, Jorden Denham, and by a brother, Glen S. (Jeanne) Wilding. She is also survived by her wonderful second family who were so good and loving to her, and by numerous nieces and nephews, 26 grandchildren and 37 great-granchildren. Clem was born July 30, 1901 at Mink Creek, ID the son of Rasmus and Marie Magnalyn Hansen Rasmussen Jr. Mr. Rasmussen married Alba Miles on August 15, 1935 at Preston, ID. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. Clem has lived in Mink Creek, Thatcher and Grace. He has been a farmer all of his life. He was a member of the Grace LDS Third Ward. He had served as Sunday School President, Young Mens Mutual President, Seventy's Quorum President and as a Home Teacher. He was honored as the Grand Marshal of the Caribou County Fair and Rodeo in 1991. He enjoyed Baseball, Horse Pulling, Horse Back Riding and Boxing. Clem is survived by his wife Alba of Grace; three sons and two daughters and their spouses; Royce and Sharon Rasmussen of Elmo, UT; Lloyd and Linda Rasmussen of Grace; Craig and Cheryl Rasmussen of Soda Springs; Carol JoAnn Call of Pocatello and Debra and Max Hemmert of Soda Springs, also 24 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild and a stepbrother Ed Seal, Hazelton, ID. He was Preceded in death by six infant brothers, an infant sister Ellen, two brothers Marvin and Orson, a stepbrother Fred Seal and six sisters, Annie Wilde, Sarah Rasmussen, Bessie Hawks, Ila Bybee Christensen, Thelma Hansen and Lydia Thomas. Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday, July 9, 2002, at Noon at the Grace LDS Stake Center with Bishop Crae Williams conducting. Friends may call at the Sims Funeral Home on Monday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. and on Tuesday at the Grace LDS stake center from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Thatcher Cemetery. Services are under the direction of the Sims Funeral Home.

Roper, 82, of Smithfield, Utah, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 3, 2002, at the Sunshine Terrace Rehabilitation Center in Logan, Utah, gratefully with his "sweet wife" of 62 years and beloved granddaughter by his side. He was born February 15, 1920, at Preston, Idaho. He spent most of his life on a ranch in Thatcher, Idaho, of which he said, "I wouldn't trade my experiences on the ranch for anything in this world." While attending Thatcher High School, he drew straws with a friend to take a "sweet red-headed gal," Karma Cahoon, to the Harvest Ball. After a four-year courtship, they were married in the Logan Temple on April 3, 1940. With increasing age and decreasing help to run the ranch, they sold and moved to Smithfield, Utah, in June 1976. Frank later said, "It was a very hard decision to make; but I believe we did the right thing." The transition was easy to make with wonderful friends and neighbors quickly bringing them into their circle of love. Frank is survived by his wife, Karma, and his children, Steve (Diane), Linda (Fred) and Rick (Ila) and their families providing 12 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 3 step great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at noon on Monday, July 8, 2002, at the Smithfield 17th Ward chapel at 300 S. 300 E., Smithfield, Utah. A viewing for friends and family will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 7, at the Allen-Cranney Mortuary, 420 E. 1800 N., Smithfield, Utah. and from 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. on Monday at the chapel prior to the funeral services. During her childhood she lived many places in Eastern Idaho. She lived with her family in house in Island Park where moose, elk and grizzly bears were regular visitors. She lived in the farming haven of Cache Valley and later in the Salt Lake Valley. Due to her mother"s illness Sherry helped raise her younger sister who she always thought of as part daughter, part sister and part friend. She was always happy to help when someone needed a helping hand. She shared her goodness unreservedly. She met Claine D. Hope in 1961. They married in October of 1965 and had three children. She was wife, mother, friend, teacher, confessor, judge and jury. She held her loved ones to a high standard, instilling values, morality, curiosity, a thirst for knowledge, generosity and a desire to make the world a better place. Sherr loved trees and flowers. She loved the mountains, and being a Western American. An avid reader who devoured books like food, Sherry passed this love for books and learning on to her children and to anyone she came into contact with. She spent the last years of her life in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Her body was not strong enough to keep up with her mind and she died on Wednesday, July 3, 2002 of complications due to emphysema. She is survived by her husband, Claine, of Sunset; her children, Michelle, James, and Kelli, all of Jackson, WY; Larry of West Haven, and Val of West Point. Sherry had one brother, Ronald H. Cole of Ogden and one sister, Mariellen Cole of Kaysville. She was preceded in death by her parents, Newman and Dora Idelle Anderson Cole of Weston, ID and her aunt, Eva V"Lee Anderson Cole of Bountiful, UT. She will be missed more than words can say. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 9, 2002 at 1 p.m. in the Weston Idaho First Ward Chapel with Bishop Glade Schvaneveldt conducting. Their vows were solemnized July 12, 1938 in the Logan LDS Temple. Ione was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had been employed as a supervisor at Ogden Poultry. Ione is survived by her sons, Eldon R. (Nancy) Bair of Roy; Ronald W. Bair of Clearfield; Brent E. (Janet) Bair of Washington Terrace; and Rodney C. (Sarah) Bair of Liberty. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, three brothers and one sister. She was born October 23, 1919, at Oxford, Idaho, to Golden Hyrum and Dolly Edith Kendall Green. She graduated from Clifton High School, Clifton, Idaho. She married Melvin Ray Gambles July 15, 1936, at Logan, Utah. He preceded her in death January 6, 1997. She and Melvin owned and operated Alameda Confectionary from 1940-1957. She enjoyed her flower garden, and she had always had a beautiful yard. She enjoyed family get- togethers and especially enjoyed grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was also a member of Radiant Chapter No. 61, O.E.S., having served as worthy matron, and of Daughters of the Nile. She helped with March of Dimes. When her daughter Peggy was in school she was very active in PTA and school functions. She was an excellent seamstress. vShe is survived by one daughter. Peggy Lou (Earl) Gunter of Pocatello; three grandchildren, Brad (Susan Abbey) Gunter, Michael Ray (Sandy) Gunter, and Shawn Lee (Tracy) Gunter; four great- grandchildren, Josh, Stephanie, Cody and Vannessa Gunter; and one sister, Dorothy Anderson of Mulino, Oregon. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents. She was born July 8, 1941, in Burlington, Wis., the daughter of Adolph and Marie Anderson Fiegel. She grew up in Silver Lake, Wis. She married Doug Brand and had one child. They were later divorced. She then married Leonard Pickens and they had one son. They moved to Pocatello and were later divorced. She stayed in Pocatello and worked at the Pocatello Carpenters Credit Union as an office manager. She worked there for several years. She then moved to Preston where she worked at Herff Jones in accounts receivable. She is survived by her mother and stepfather, Marie (Bernard) Schaetten; a brother, David Fiegel; a daughter, Deana (Randy) Bullington; a son, Lonny Pickens and two grandchildren, Jeff and Gary Bullington. She was preceded in death by her father. “She loved the mountains, now she will be a part of them forever.” She was known as the “Hummingbird Lady” to her friends. There will be no funeral services. It was her wish that if people wanted to send flowers, to instead donate to a cancer institution of their choice. Arrangements are by Webb Funeral Home, Preston.
