Has everyone heard that Ancestry is closing down the Rootsweb mailing lists in March? Is the admin of this list going to try and migrate the group somewhere else? We have started a new Idaho Genealogy message board/mailing list at "Groups.io" ( https://groups.io/g/IdahoGenealogy ) We want to place links to any county groups or specialized Idaho lists or groups on the home page. We would like to announce the forming of a new organization the Cumberland Gap Tennessee Genealogy and History Group, A.K.A (CGTGHG) which propose to record and preserve. The goal of the group is to promote Genealogy with the recording of Pioneerâs and their descendantâs while also preserving and recording Cumberland Gapâs history. The CGTGHG hopeâs the Nation will get behind the group by submitting pioneerâs names, stories, pictures and Genealogies to be preserved for future generations to come. The CGTGHG will be having a newsletter 4 times a year and will have memberships available on different levels more on that to come. It was taken about 1920 and she appears to be about 10. She has a younger brother in the picture. It could have been taken in Hailey or Picaboo or Mountain Home, Idaho areas. There is little information prior to the newly released census of 1940. I've just recently began researching again from a break I took. Sometimes you just need to take a break when there is little info. Jeremiah W. Schock is my 3x's great grandfather thru the female line I have. His daughter is Pearl Lavinah Schock, she would be my gg grandmother. It is a very large family with many brothers and sisters. Pearl also had a daughter named Pearl. Pearl married Robert Bolton Rainey. Robert and Pearl's duaghter Margret Marie Rainey is mt g-granddmother. she married David Delance Zabriskie. Their daughter Helen Rose is my grandmother. Most of the Zabriskie lines are Polish with large families, you can find out more on those lines by entering a google search for Albrecht Zaborowskij, in this line there are 2 Zabriskie books of family lines.They settled New Jersey before statehood.
