Has everyone heard that Ancestry is closing down the Rootsweb mailing lists in March? Is the admin of this list going to try and migrate the group somewhere else? We have started a new Idaho Genealogy message board/mailing list at "Groups.io" ( https://groups.io/g/IdahoGenealogy ) We want to place links to any county groups or specialized Idaho lists or groups on the home page. Of Course, anyone interested in Idaho genealogy is encouraged to join this new group I hope to hear from you RandyC
We would like to announce the forming of a new organization the Cumberland Gap Tennessee Genealogy and History Group, A.K.A (CGTGHG) which propose to record and preserve. The goal of the group is to promote Genealogy with the recording of Pioneerâs and their descendantâs while also preserving and recording Cumberland Gapâs history. The CGTGHG hopeâs the Nation will get behind the group by submitting pioneerâs names, stories, pictures and Genealogies to be preserved for future generations to come. The CGTGHG will be having a newsletter 4 times a year and will have memberships available on different levels more on that to come. You can go to our website at [1]cgtghg.org or [2]facebook.com/cgtghg Thank You, David A Nelson Jr Website and Social Media References 1. http://cgtghg.org/ 2. http://facebook.com/cgtghg

First is that her death certificate was missed or mis-transcribed in the index. I have not seen this happen more than a couple of times. The second is that no death certificate was filed. That was contrary to the laws, but it happened more often than you might think. I have seen it happen several times in Cassia County and they were all where a person died of natural causes related to old age and were in a rural area of the county. Apparently the family buried the deceased without any involvement of law enforcement or undertakers. I'd suggest checking all variations of the surname on the byu-Idaho site or reading the local newspaper to see if there is an obituary (which might provide a clue about why no dc). If a death certificate can be shown to exist, the folks at the byu-Idaho site will send you a copy. John Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. The Social Sec. uses this field for their own purposes and it does NOT guarantee that was his last residence. The State of Idaho won't release death info (unless family member) until 50 years after the death. Therefore, we'll use the Burley info because we don't have any other to find his obituary. There is an obituary volunteer for Burley (Cassia) Co. at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~obitl/volid.html Scroll down to Cassia Co and choose Lois. Lynch Died: 13 March 1958, Umatilla Co., Oregon per death cert #3564. Spouse: Glemma. Source: Oregon Death Index 1903-98. I searched for a Glemma Lynch but didn't find her but she could have married again. Do you have a copy of Edwin's obituary? There is an obituary volunteer for Umatilla Co. at Random Acts Genealogical Kindness. Go to raogk.org Choose Oregon Click on N thru Z Scroll down to Umatilla Co. and choose Jessica. If that doesn't work out, contact the Pendleton Public Library, pendleton.plinkit.org/ . I think it's interesting that the death info for Zoe Dor [field often shortened] Lynch shows her spouse's name as Jerome. Do you have a copy of Zoe's obituary? There is an obituary volunteer at RAOGK for Malheur Co. too. If that doesn't work out, contact PublicLibraries.com/oregon/malheur.htm . I don't know where to tell you to look for his marriage to Glemma. They could have been married in South Fruitland, ID or Umatilla Co., OR and anywhere in between. It's the same answer for finding his and Zoe's divorce info too. Why don't you wait until you get copies of the obituaries which might provide clues on where to look. The children you listed might not be all the children he had but his obituary should help with that question. The 1940 Census will be issued in 2012 but who knows how long it will take to have it indexed. That will certainly provide you with more info. Successful Searching!
