Ila was born in Park City, Utah, a daughter of Edgar and Bertha May (Oakey) Passey on March 20, 1931. She attended schools in Randolph, Utah, and Evanston, Wyo. and graduated from Evanston High School. Ila married Bobbie Lee Mickelsen May 26, 1961, in the Logan LDS Temple. She worked for numerous people in Evanston and Randolph. She worked for Beneficial Life Insurance when they lived in Salt Lake City; J.C. Penney's in Soda Springs; ISU Registration Office where she was a veterans clerk until her retirement after 27 years of service on March 29, 1996. Ila was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served various positions, including Junior Primary coordinator, visiting teacher, Relief Society teacher, extraction worker, Relief Society luncheon chairman, visiting teaching supervisor, Sunday School teacher, and served a mission in the Eastern Canada Mission. She was also involved with the DUP (Daughters of Utah Pioneers), where she served as county president, camp captain, treasurer and secretary. Her hobbies included genealogy, family histories, crocheting, reading, scrapbooking, DUP, and especially spending time with her family. Ila is survived by her daughters, Ann Passey, Pocatello; Cara Mickelsen, Salt Lake City; Roberta Mickelsen, Pocatello; a sister, Lilly Limb, Evanston, Wyo.; one grandchild, and numerous extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bertha and Edgar Passey; husband, Bob L. Mickelsen; a grandson, David M. Mickelsen; eight brothers and four sisters. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 8, 2005, at Pocatello 9th Ward Chapel on the corner of Quinn and Hawthorne with Bishop Earl Dayley conducting. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4th Ave., and prior to the services at the church Wednesday morning from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Interment will follow the services at the Chesterfield Cemetery.
