On May 10, 1918 Isabel was born in Soda Springs, Idaho to Dr. Russell Tigert and Alice Pearl Humphrey Tigert. She was one of six children. Isabel attended the University of Idaho and graduated in 1941 with a degree in home economics. It was there that she met the love of her life, Donald Robertson of Roswell, Idaho. After Don graduated in agronomy in 1942, their life followed the path of many in the "greatest generation." Don enlisted in the Navy and started his journey to become a PT boat commander in the South Pacific, PT-107. They married Oct. 3, 1942 and Isabel followed Don to as many stations and schools as possible, one time working as a cook in a naval hospital. Don believed that Issy perfected her egg frying while spoiling those young sailors. During the war, Issy returned to Idaho to work for Idaho Power teaching women how to use those newfangled electric stoves. After the war, Isabel and Don settled back in Idaho. Their son Michael was born in Twin Falls in 1948 and their daughter Patricia was born in Wendell in 1951. In the early '50s they moved to Caldwell, where Don worked for Simplot's and Isabel worked as a U of I county extension agent for Canyon County. Don's job with Simplot took them to Carberry, Manitoba, Canada and then to Burley. As an exceptional seamstress, Issy was always sewing something for the Shriners Hospitals or family members. She was quick to spoil the family with her wonderful cooking. Isabel and Don retired to the Twin Falls area and continued to stay active golfing, playing bridge and camping. Issy lost her beloved Don in 1995 to cancer and her son Michael to a sudden illness in 1998. In 2003 she came to live in Boise with the assistance of her daughter Trisha and her son-in-law Bedford! . Her daughter Trisha Robertson, son-in-law Bedford Boston (Caldwell) and Cathy Robertson, her daughter-in-law (Missoula), survive her. Isabel leaves behind three wonderful grandchildren, all of Boise: Angela Robertson, Greg Robertson and Nicole Stoker, and their other parents, Sandy Robertson and Randy Stoker (Twin Falls). Sisters-in-law Alice Tigert, Relda Tigert and Donnie Robertson, as well as many nieces and nephews, survive Isabel. She leaves many who loved her smile and laughter. Memorials may be made to Daughters of the Nile, Iras Temple No. 40, 2660 E. Salisbury
