Has everyone heard that Ancestry is closing down the Rootsweb mailing lists in March? Is the admin of this list going to try and migrate the group somewhere else? We have started a new Idaho Genealogy message board/mailing list at "Groups.io" ( https://groups.io/g/IdahoGenealogy ) We want to place links to any county groups or specialized Idaho lists or groups on the home page. Of Course, anyone interested in Idaho genealogy is encouraged to join this new group I hope to hear from you RandyC
Searching for information on Mr. & Mrs. Rex Foreman who were living at 798 Garfield St, Idaho Falls in July 1947. Mrs. Foreman had just given birth to a boy at the LDS Hospital. Rex Foreman was probably around 22 years of age. Any information most greatly appreciated. Sincerely, Gerald H. Forman Berkeley, CA

Many people in Utah and Idaho are descended from Thomas and Elizabeth (Russell) Archibald. Thomas Archibald died in Scotland but Elizabeth Russell Archibald came to Wellsville with several of her children. Some went to Idaho and some went to Canada. A family reunion for all descendants of Elizabeth Russell Archibald is being planned for Saturday, Sept 8, 2012 at the Wellsville, Utah bowery by cousin Brandon Sundeen. He is planning games for the younger children, sharing of family history info for the adults, followed by a memorial service at the Wellsville Cemetery. Food is POT LUCK. Bring your own lunch and all will share what they bring. If you have any family heirlooms, photos, letters, etc.. pertaining to Elizabeth Russell Archibald or her immediate family, please bring them for viewing. For more details contact Brandon Sundeen. Phone: 503-396-2178 OR email: brandonsundeen@gmail.com Please help us get the word out. Pass this information on to all of your extended family so that they may attend if they are interested. Author: mfritzen1 Surnames: hansen, miller, lords Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.idaho.counties.bonneville/306.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Taylor is a community just south and east of Idaho Falls, or just south of Ammon, Idaho. It was settled by second-generation Utah pioneers in the 1880s. They homesteaded, cleared land, built canals, and were organized into an LDS branch by John W. Taylor. In 1886 they named the branch Taylor after John W. Taylor, who was an apostle and son of Church President John Taylor. As I am writing a history of Bonneville County, I have worked with Doyle Arave, who knows about Taylor families. The names you gave are of Taylor and Shelley (just north of Taylor). He said you may telephone him; he lives in Idaho Falls. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I hope you are well. As usual, things have been busy. I much prefer a slower pace of life but that is not what I have! Just wanted to let you know that I have not forgotten you! I gave your number to my sister Rosemarie - she will probably call you to chat. She (very) recently moved to Austin, Texas (she is moving into her new home on Friday) and I hope I can get her to do some research on Thompson. She has never done family history but is very interested in it. She was quite excited to hear that I had found a relative in Mississippi! So, I am off to California tomorrow to spend Thanksgiving with my mother. I hope you have a nice holiday. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
