Has everyone heard that Ancestry is closing down the Rootsweb mailing lists in March? Is the admin of this list going to try and migrate the group somewhere else? We have started a new Idaho Genealogy message board/mailing list at "Groups.io" ( https://groups.io/g/IdahoGenealogy ) We want to place links to any county groups or specialized Idaho lists or groups on the home page. Of Course, anyone interested in Idaho genealogy is encouraged to join this new group I hope to hear from you RandyC
We would like to announce the forming of a new organization the Cumberland Gap Tennessee Genealogy and History Group, A.K.A (CGTGHG) which propose to record and preserve. The goal of the group is to promote Genealogy with the recording of Pioneerâs and their descendantâs while also preserving and recording Cumberland Gapâs history. The CGTGHG hopeâs the Nation will get behind the group by submitting pioneerâs names, stories, pictures and Genealogies to be preserved for future generations to come. The CGTGHG will be having a newsletter 4 times a year and will have memberships available on different levels more on that to come. You can go to our website at [1]cgtghg.org or [2]facebook.com/cgtghg Thank You, David A Nelson Jr Website and Social Media References 1. http://cgtghg.org/ 2. http://facebook.com/cgtghg

The only mention of Jimmy Jr, is in the writing of Nellie Mills, then in the book "The Weiser Indians" by Hank Corless, his end notes credits Mrs. Mills. This is the only mention of him that I have ever found. The find a grave contributor for the Hoey family has spent years researching this family, she has personally interviewed Native Americans family members at FT. In the Idaho Statesman. Aug, 1913 a Billy Hoey pulled a gun in a card game and was shot by Charlie Sells, but was not seriously injured. It is unknown if The Billy Hoey shot in the card game in Horseshoe Bend is the brother of Jimmy Hoey Jr. I think it is as these Indians worked on nearby farms in Jerusalem and the Bend. William Wa Joch Hoey is without question the son of James Hoey and Yehavitz Blackhawk, death certifcate list them as his parents, WW1 draft card shows his birth as Drybuck Idaho which this band of Indians lived till they went to Ft Hall and Lemhi reservations in about 1897. William died from knife wounds from a altercation in 1940 and is buried in Challis, Idaho The search goes on for Jimmy Jr. Thanks again, the more interest we have we might find his death yet. The accused "Dick" Brewer was found guilty and sentenced to one year in the penitentiary in Boise Idaho, upon his release he enlisted in the armed services and was KIA in the liberation of Holland a few months later The sister of Billy Hoey, Birdie Hoey Calico is a well known Native American in Bingham Co. I'm pretty sure that there was no obituary, and probably no death notice either. Betty died when I was 8 so that was around 1990. There was no funeral and she was cremated, and dad has her ashes. My dad was very close to her, but honestly through life she had alienated herself from friends and family, but such is the case on my dads side of the family. There are tons of secrets and hidden stories that my dad doesn't know, or talk about. And honestly and sadly, he doesn't want to know any of his family's past, but that hasn't stopped me in my searches. Any info you might have would be awesome to know. Thanks. Feb 21 1902 page 6 Death of the Only Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Cartwright Georgie, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Cartwright of Shafer creek, died at the Weiser academy last evening. She was 16 years of age. The cause of death was bilious fever. The parents were sent for some days ago, but when they reached Boise they were notified that their daughter was so much better that it would not be necessary for them to come. They went home, and yesterday Mrs. Cartwright came back, intending to go to Weiser on last night's train to be with her daughter. Before train time the news came that the sufferer was dead. The remains will be brought back to Boise today. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
