She was born May 18, 1921, in Pocatello, Idaho, to Thomas Myers and Lydia Alzina Calvert Myers. She married LaVere Marchant Newman on December 21, 1945, in Pocatello. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Los Angels LDS Temple on January 24, 1959. Before marrying she worked at the Office of Pricing Administration. She was an active member of the LDS Church and held many positions during her lifetime. Her favorite calling was working in the Primary, were she served for almost 40 years. She is survived by three sons, Douglas (Jamey), Montpelier, Idaho, Darrel, Imperial Beach, Calif., and Philip (Kathy), Syracuse, Utah; one daughter-in-law, Sandra, Montrose, Pa.; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one sister, Elaine Smith, Montpelier, Idaho. She was preceded in death by her husband, two children, one grandson, four brothers and three sisters. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 22, at noon in the Montpelier Third Ward. Friends may visit with the family at Matthews Mortuary on Wednesday evening, June 21 from 6 to 8 p.m., and on Thursday at the church from 10 to 11:45 a.m. The interment will be in the Montpelier Cemetery.
