Louis was born in Paris, Idaho on July 12, 1927 a son of Andrew and Louise Stocker Barfuss. He served as a Marine, in WWII. Louis married Josephine Johnson on October 18, 1957 in the Logan Temple; she died on November 14, 1993. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In the early 70’s he was Box Elder Tabernacle President and he served on the Stake High Council. He was “the mailman” in Brigham City from 1962 to 1989 and was remembered as a great friend and neighbor. Surviving are his children, Andrew Scott Barfuss, Brigham City, UT; Alean Barfuss, Helper, UT; Ladene (Bryan) Gibby, Pocatello, ID; Louis Joseph (Stacey) Barfuss, Smithfield, UT; Bonnie Ruth (Duane) Jones, LaBarge, WY; special friend, Alberta Barkhurst, Brigham City, UT; and 15 grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters and brothers, Thelma Jenson, Millville, UT; Helen Iverson, Brigham City, UT; Joseph A. (Sally) Barfuss, Midvale, UT; Victor R.(Mary) Barfuss, Twin Falls, ID; Raymond (Ruby) Barfuss, Star, ID; sister-in-law, Shirley Barfuss, Sunset, UT. He was preceded in death by his parents, and wife. Funeral services will be Friday, June 16, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the Brigham City 2nd Ward Chapel, 420 S. 800 W., Brigham City. Friends may call Thursday from, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 205 S. 100 E., Brigham City and Friday from 10:00 to 10:40 a.m. at the Church Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery.
