Marva was born July 26, 1924, in Lanark, Idaho, to Joseph F. and Rebecca Ethel Porter Beck. She graduated from Fieldng High School. Marva served an LDS mission in the Mexico Mission. While serving her mission, she met Joseph Brigham Taylor, a fellow missionary. Marva and Joseph were married in the Logan LDS Temple on May 22, 1950. They raised their family of nine children in Colonia Juarez, Mexico, Snowflake, Ariz., and Logan, Utah. Mom was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many positions. She loved teaching Trailblazers in the Primary, young women as a Young Women's President, and spent many years as a ward librarian. Mom worked as secretary at Fielding High School and Hill Air Force Base. She also worked at Dick's Cafe in Logan, Utah, Farr Ice Cream in Ogden, Utah, and Sunshine Terrace Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Marva is survived by her husband, Joseph Taylor of Mesa, Ariz.; and her nine children, Rhoda (Paul) Goff of Millville, Utah, Garth (Joyce) Taylor of Clinton, Utah, Rebecca (Darv) Whipple of Mesa, Marva Jo (Craig) Nelson of Murray, Utah, Laurie Winder of Salt Lake City, Utah, Jennie (John) Oritz of Snowflake, Ariz., Chris (Linda) Taylor of Hyrum, Utah, Elizabeth (Jeff) Brammer of Moore, Okla., Ernest (Christine) Taylor of Logan; 42 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren - with several on the way; a brother, Worthy (LaRue) Beck; and sisters, Gayle (Ray) Brown, Betty Jo (Evan) Ivie, brothers-in-law Marion, Warnick, Mitchell Covert; and sister-in-law, Syble Beck. Marva is preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Ardith Beck and Garth Beck; along with her sisters, Loal Warnick, Hope Wilhelm, B. Ann Covert, and Helen Beck. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 26, in the Apache Junction Stake Center, 1720 S. Ironwood, Apache Junction, Ariz. A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, March 25, at Bunker Family Mortuary, Desert View Chapel, 9702 E. Apache Trail, Mesa. Interment will follow the services at the City of Mesa Cemetery, 1212 N. Center St., Mesa. Published in the Logan Herald Journal from 3/23/2007 - 3/29/2007.
