She was born January 5, 1919 in Ovid, Idaho to Sivel and Leone Wallentine Nielson. Helen married Orville E. Summers and they later divorced. She married Harold Lee Berg and he preceded her in death. Helen graduated from Fielding High School in 1937 and graduated from Utah State University in 1940. She taught high school for several years and then worked as an Administrative Assistant at the Oakland Army Terminal. An active member of the LDS Church, Helen served as Compassionate Service Leader and as a Visiting Teacher. Her love of animals is a cherished memory enjoyed by her family. Survivors include daughter, Karen (Harry) Watkins; son, David (Chris) Berg; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; sister, Ramona (Dick) Peterson; sister-in-law, LaRae Nielson. Preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Rao and Farrell. Funeral services! will be held Monday, March 12, 2007, at 10:00 a.m. in the Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, where friends may call Monday from 9:00-9:45 a.m. Interment, Ovid Cemetery, Ovid, Idaho at approximately 3:00 p.m. Monday. Published in the Deseret News on 3/11/2007.
