She was born May 9, 1912, in Garden City, Utah, to Nathanial John and Rosa Ellen Early Hodges, the fourth of six children. She graduated from North Rich High School in Laketown, Utah and attended Utah State where she met the love of her life, Carl G Stuart. Lillian and Carl were married September 7, 1932, for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They lived in Randolph, Utah for 20 years before moving to Ogden. Carl passed away November 1, 1991. Lillian remained in the Ogden area until her death. Lillian loved being a full time wife and mother. After her children were grown, she began her career at Weight Watchers, where she worked for several years. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- day Saints. She served as a teacher in many organizations and was also a Visiting Teacher, Relief Society President and Stake Relief Society Secretary. Lillian and Carl worked in the Ogden Temple for eight years. She was happiest when she was serving others. She is survived by four children: Allan (LeeOnna) Stuart, West Valley City; Nanette Anderson, Ogden; John Mark (Edna) Stuart, Taylorsville; Darlene (Reed) Scothern, Ogden; nine grandchildren: Ray, Joni, Brenda, Sharon, Jerry, Larry, Erica, Amy and Tanja; and nine great-grandchildren: Tracie, Holly, Steven, Greg, Richard, Matthew, McCall, Mikah and KyAnn. Also surviving are two sisters, Norma Arnell, St. Charles, ID; Lolita Garn, Mesa, AZ; and May Hodges, Rigby, ID. Lillian was preceded in death by her husband Carl, her son, James Hodges Stuart, two grandchildren, Richard and Jennifer, two brothers, LaMont and Ross, and one sister, Edna. We wish to extend a special thanks to Washington Terrace Health Services staff and Ogden Regional Medical Center for their care of our mother. Funeral services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may call at the mortuary on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
