You have to do it all online any more; you can't go into the records office. You may have to prove your relationship. Idaho has a state historical society, located in Boise, that has excellent records. You may be able to write to them and ask for any information they have. They keep old newspapers and much of it is being digitized now. They have helped many people that I know for just this type of information. Have you tried Google for any information, using the Halbasch name? If you know the mortuary that handled the funeral, you may be able to find records they have. If there was an accident, they may even have that information . We usually send them a few dollars to help pay for any copying expenses. The sexton at the cemetery may also be of some help.
