She was born December 23, 1916 in Montpelier, Idaho to Burton Kent and Mabel Pearce Farnsworth. She married James Vern Hales September 4, 1940 in the Salt Lake Temple. Vern passed away August 29, 1997. Lucile graduated from Utah State University where she was a member of the Kappa Delta sorority. Following graduation she taught Physical Education at Roosevelt Jr. High School in Salt Lake City. After her marriage she focused on her family and raised seven children who will miss her greatly. Her hobbies included gardening, reading, genealogy, music, crafts and needlework, doing puzzles, playing games, and serving others. She was a generous and loving hostess and friend. She had a special love for the scouting program and worked with many boys as they became Eagle Scouts. She was especially proud that all of her sons and grandsons became Eagle Scouts. She is survived by her children, Susan (Roger) Flick, Orem, UT, Catherine (Jack) Moyer, West Grove, PA, Carolyn (Ted) Roeth, Las Vegas, NV, Wayne F. (Jaada) Hales, Ocoee, FL, Charles F. (Marci) Hales, Las Vegas, NV, Robert F. (Kathy) Hales, Milford, OH, and Janice (Tom) Ward, Garland, TX; 32 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchil-dren; brothers, Dean B. Farnsworth, Orem, UT, Robert P. Farnsworth, serving a mission in Japan, Richard K. Farnsworth, McLean, VA; and sister, Patty Linn Tolley, Salt Lake City. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Margaret Richards; and two granddaughters, Karen and Janet Moyer. Funeral services will be held at the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 E. 800 N, Orem , UT at 1 p.m. Friday, November 10th. Friends may call after 11:45 a.m. just prior to the beginning of the funeral service. Interment will be in the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, Nevada Monday, November 13th.
