She was born March 17, 1909, in Paris, Idaho to Joseph Stanners Price and Elizabeth Susanna Reese, the third of ten children. She was educated in the schools of Bloomington and Paris, Idaho and later at LDS Business College in Salt Lake City. As a youth, she was active in community drama events and loved to sing and dance. In 1935 she accepted a secretarial position at the Chevrolet Motor Division in Salt Lake City. It was there that she met her eternal sweetheart, Roy Lewis (Andy) Anderson. After a short courtship, they were married on December 1, 1939, in the Salt Lake Temple. Three children blessed their marriage. They resided in the Holladay area of the Salt Lake Valley until 1950 when they moved to Panguitch where they had purchased the Chevrolet dealership. They built the Frostop Drive-in there and Gwen managed that business until they re-located to Holladay in 1960. There she worked as a bookkeeper for Stan Jones Construction. In their advanced years Gwen and Andy moved for the last time to Orem to be close to family members who could assist them, as they grew older. A Member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints, Gwen was always active in church service filling positions at both the ward and stake levels including music director, chorister, drama director, young women counselor and adviser, Sunday School secretary and Primary teacher. She was a member of the Business and Professional Women's Club. She was a talented seamstress and quilter, an accomplished genealogist, a successful gardener and gifted writer. Gwen was preceded in death by her husband, Andy, and her eldest son, Dick. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Heather Anderson of Orem, UT, her daughter, Jean (Joe) Riggs of Concord, CA, her son Blaine (Shauna) Anderson, Bryce Canyon, UT, step-daughter, Shirl Gadette of Salt Lake City, UT, her sisters Dora Larsen, Logan, UT and Roene McKinnon, Bountiful, UT, her brothers Robert Price, Provo, UT and Jay Price, Las Vegas, NV, 15 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held in the Holladay 28th Ward chapel at 2625 East Milo Way, Holladay, UT on Thursday, February 16, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. Friends and family members are invited to a visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. prior to the funeral services. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making a donation in Gwen's name to Comfort Care Hospice, 728 East 2900 North, Lehi, UT 84043.
